I always have thought the Ravens to be a well drafting team. Unless it involves a WR.

You should be. I recall last year you saying you were giving up on the Giants and cheering for the Seahawks. But then again, that was before Odell I think.

Too accurate. It's a pretty short list, like Torrey Smith and that's it.

Otoh, late round draft picks have made such a difference, especially to counteract some of the early round misses.

Brandon Williams, Ricky Wagner, Kyle Juszczyk, and Crockett Gilmore all were drafted in the 3rd or later the past two years, and all started and/or got significant playing time in 2014 and will start in 2015.

The list of guys who were drafted late and are expected to contribute over the next few years is even longer. Michael Campanaro is a name to watch. I believe he's going to become a very good slot receiver in this league, just needs to stay on the field. He's already shown flashes, and we'll probably see more of it this year since he should replace Jacoby Jones as returner.

The Matt Elam 1st round pick is trending more towards bust right now, but the CJ Mosley pick last draft was pure genius and is a prime example of the benefit of drafting BPA as opposed to reaching for need.

Is anyone worse than us in the last 15 years though when it comes to drafting receivers? Lol.

We hit on one like once a decade.

I thought the melodrama gave away the sarcasm at the time. Anyway, I'm too inspired by that "Seahwaks draft good" quote to even throw shade back at you man.

I think the Packers are a better drafting team than the Seahawks, personally.

Seahawks haven't even drafted that well the last two years. The first few classes up to 2012 were incredible, but 2013 looks pretty bad. 2014 does have some potential but certainly hasn't had any big immediate impact.

Scot McCloughan was working with Seahawks during that time as a senior personnel executive, and he had a pretty big hand in drafting a lot of the top guys. Prior to that he was the GM for the 49ers, and built the team there that was competing for championships and has promptly fallen apart since he left.

I'll be interested to see what he does with the Redskins. They already had an excellent offseason as far as free agency goes.

When The Hood speaks, **** gets done apparently:

Whatever Patriots coach Bill Belichick said last week in Arizona, it worked. The NFL will soon be taking a closer look at the use of fixed cameras during games, at the goal line and elsewhere.

Soon as in very soon. Albert Breer of NFL Media reports that the league will commence research and development on Monday regarding Belichick’s proposal to add more cameras.

Breer says that the league specifically is looking for “the right technology and then how to best integrate the cameras into the replay system that will work in all 31 stadiums.”

Cost has been identified as a reason for not installing more cameras, a red herring that caused Belichick to go blue (unless he didn’t). But cost surely isn’t the actual issue, especially since the technology easily can become a revenue stream with the slapping of a logo on the pylon and/or the granting to GoPro of a license to call itself the Official Action Camera of the NFL, or some similar foofy marketing concoction.

The more practical challenge from the placement of cameras in pylons comes from the presence of 22 players and seven officials on the field, who can obscure what otherwise would be a clear view of action on the field. It also will become important for the officials to not place ever further reliance on the availability of visual evidence when making calls in real time, erring one way or the other with the assumption that any errors can be rectified by replay.

McCloughan definitely gets some of the credit: He brought in Gore, Willis, Vernon and Staley among others. But Baalke brought in A. Davis, Iupati, Bowman and Aldon among others. The 2010/11 drafts along with some key FA signings really pushed the turnaround.

McCloughan had his share of misses too. The 2008 and 2009 drafts were pretty miserable overall. Baalke misfired badly in 2012.
