It was pretty amazing seeing that Buffalo offense operate in cold weather. They also had some great battles with Marino even though the Dolphins could rarely get over the hump (mostly because Marino NEVER had a running game). Thurman, Reed, Don Beebe, Kenneth Davis, Lofton (for a few years), McKeller on offense. Bruce Smith, Talley, Bennett, Patton in a mean front 7 and who could forget Mark Kelso with that extra shell on his helmet. They were hell to face after Week 14 in Tecmo Bowl.

A lot of younger people don't know about those Bills. Like if I had to bet I would say most people don't know Reich led the comeback vs the Oilers and not Jim Kelly since Kelly got hurt week 17 in a 27-3 loss to Houston. (Reich also lead what was the biggest college comeback ever until '06)Or that the game didn't sell out and was blacked out in WNY.

Why did Kelly come out of the game again...performance an injury [to something]? Also, was the conference final or the division round?

1. Kelly had suffered a knee injury in the last game of the season (a 27-3 loss at Houston).

2. Wildcard game

Think about that for a second. The Oilers and Bills played twice in two weeks. Thru the first 6 qtrs and roughly the 1st 5 mins of the 7th Houston had outscored Buffalo 62-6. From that point until the end of OT the Bills went on a 38-3 run.

Bizarre.

If HBO is smart they'd make JJ Watt the main figure on it if they're picked. He would instantly become the most liked player for everyone outside of their rooting interests.
