How can the league punish team for signing players who are eligible to play in the NFL? If you don't want teams to sign certain players, ban them. Adding penalty after the fact is just a ridiculous notion.

Yeah, that would be the only way to really hurt teams. Even then I doubt that would stop them from signing or drafting a gifted player with off the field troubles. There will always be one team willing to take a gamble.
Maybe Cowboys fans would like this since they just got a steal bc a kid was blackballed in the draft bc of an incident he doesn't seem to have anything to do with.

The Bengals tried to rush back to relevance by giving a bunch of guys a chance who they knew were risks bc of potential off field issues. The players got in actual trouble and the league acted accordingly. This is how it should be. Even though we know the NFL has investigators on the payroll, they should not be handing down any punishment to anyone based on suspension. That pandora's box has already been opened... I'm really surprised people are still pushing to go further down that road.

The 1st arrest was a he said she said and we haven't seen the evidence. We do know that she has lied in the past.

Based off this, it definitely shows he is an idiot. I think both of them are crazy and need to never see each other again.

You might be completely right, but you might be completely wrong too, lol. I don't know the details. She could've found out where he was, met him there just to call the police.

Seriously, what kind of person lies about being domestically abused? If she did (he got off the first time because the ruling was that she did), we have no idea how true any of this stuff is. Don't worry, if it all turns out true you can still say you were first, lol.

ESPN is saying it's a different woman than the case from last year. Either way, we're talking about an ex NFL player who is about as likely to play NFL football in the future as I am.

His side is apparently that he was never served a restraining order - http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...d-on-mcdonald/

That doesn't mean he didn't know there was one, it makes sense he'd go back to the place if he's trying to evict her from that property.

The whole situation is pretty dumb and his career is pretty much over if he doesn't have people around him that are telling him to just have people take care of this and to keep his nose clean. It's not a stretch to see how this everyday situation spiraled unreasonably out of control but he's certainly earned some of the blame regardless of where the facts end up.

Unless the law is GREATLY different in California than here in Texas, it does not make sense that he was going back to the property because he was trying to evict her.

I own more than 10 properties and have to evict people on occasion. I have no reason to stay away from the property (I have yet to beat any tenants, lol) but I could evict without ever going there.

I could serve a 3-day Notice to Vacate by using a 3rd party (or an employee) or I could do it by certified mail (though I would never use this method).

Once that notice is served and the time passes I could send someone to see if they've left. If they haven't, I go to the courthouse and file a suit. Then it's a matter of a court date and, if necessary, getting the Sheriff's Constables to physically remove them if they still don't go.
