    Re: NFL Off Topic 2012

I don't see how Brees relates to Favre at all in anyway.

Brees has been a class act all through his career, He played out the entirety of his contract with the Saints... and outplayed it greatly at that. Never once publicly complained until his contract had expired, even said he did not want to discuss any contract issue until after the season because he did not want it to become a distraction.

Favre put himself above the team, by not giving them any heads up on whether he was retiring or not. Skipped mini camps, and training camp then just showed up right before the Regular Season expecting the Starting job to be just handed to him year after year. (which they did continually until the Packers brass had enough) Everything he did drew huge media attention, and was some kind of spectacle, and even Off the field he just seemed like a Douche, and a womanizer.

Well everyone knows about Cromartie and all the kids he has. But this is interesting.

        He sucker punched him.

The Detroit Lions developed a reputation last year as a team that had too many players who let their tempers get the best of them.

Apparently our 2011 draft class is a bunch of angry, possibly even stupid, players.

Edit: I think that Ryan Broyles pick is starting to make more sense now.

Lol, not going to lie bro, the Lions are a pretty wild team on both sides of the ball, on and off the field.

Detroit gives me a little bit of a San Fran vibe in regard to a team that is a piece or two away from breaking out. The 49ers have proven they've arrived. Could the Lions be next?

Lions have arrived IMO, it's all about how long they can keep the competitive window open, or just peak at the near-playoffs/eliminated 1st round caliber of teams before declining.

Favre's not the first athlete to be an ******* and won't be the last. People expecting all of their athletes to be saints are only going to be disappointed on a regular basis at this point.

That being said, I think the fact that time heals most wounds - and Rodgers coming in and being great - will help a lot of Packers fans forgive Favre. He's still a legend and practically helped save that franchise in Green Bay.

Has HBO chosen a team for Hard Knocks already? If not, I would like to nominate the Lions. Who doesn't want to see a young team trying to live up to new expectations?

Oh & apparently they love to fight. Make it happen HBO!

Who knew San Fran was poised to do what they did going into last year? They came out of nowhere.

Detroit needs a defense. When their offense stalls, they are screwed.

Yeah, I've seen a bunch of teams turn them down, but I don't even think they've asked Detroit yet which surprises me. Don't know if they'd do it though.

In random and totally misplaced college football news:

Stanford's offensive coordinator position has been renamed "The Andrew Luck Director of Offense"

                              True Story

Who knew he did that much at Stanford to warrant that kind of honor? Wonder how Elway feels lol. The comments in the link are hilarious

"USC just announced the Reggie Bush Director of ChaChing and Bling."

"LSU - Morris Claiborne Director of "Special" Teams"

"Can you imagine that business card.

                              Bob Johnson
                              Andrew Luck Director of Offense

                              WTF?"
