This smells fishy to me. Sounds like the Browns are trying to manipulate service time.

Of course that's what they're doing. But they couldn't have done it without Josh Gordon.

Why not just hit him with a fine instead of that suspension nonsense.

Fined Manziel for the same thing apparently.

Not sure of the rules though or if he could even be suspended since he's on IR.

Because now he'll be a RFA instead of an URFA after next season, therefore giving the Browns greater leverage in future contract negotiations.

I'm sure he can and likely will appeal this.

Yeah something ain't adding up here unless there's some other things that led up to him being suspended this week.

Yeah, too much money involved not to appeal.

I know Gordon did this to himself, but I cant help but feel the Browns are being petty as hell on this one.

They might be but it's not like he's the first player to ever be suspended for missing a practice.

I would think someone with his background would make sure to be at practice.

I'm not defending what's happened because I don't know anything that might be behind this but it's not like this is the first time a player has been suspended for missing practice.

Didn't New England do the same thing to that running back that was late to practice the week after running for 200 yards?

Pats didn't suspend him, Belichick just didn't play him. He dressed and was paid for the game.

I read that Gordon had been late to meetings and fined multiple times this season, and this was the final [convenient] straw. I'd respect the Browns more if they released or put him on the trade block this off season since they are so fed up with him.

So if this is true why do you think the Browns are being petty?

If he is continually breaking team rules why would the Browns owe him anything?

Was that before or after they added Blount? I'm trying to put the time line together in my head. Feels like he had the huge 4 TD game, was late for practice the very next week, and Pats picked LB up and started him the very next week. Was there a game in between?
