Re: NFL Off Topic
Is this weird to anyone else? There’s two more games to play until that bye week. Bell’s setting his own schedule.
I guess at this point the bridge is so burned, calling the shots isn’t so crazy.
I can’t say I disagree with Bell’s actions after seeing Thomas go down this past week. Especially as a RB who’s had serious mileage put on him so quickly. Bell may be asking for too much, but I can’t fault him for trying to save the financial viability of the position he plays. Future elite RB may owe him credit for easing their negotiations in the future.
I also think he’s with a team that had no plans of veering off course for their star RB. Other teams may not be so steadfast in their thinking, the organizational makeup, importance on positions, etc. Rams didn’t hesitate to crown Gurley (and like 5 other players), so i think it really is case by case.
As a football fan, I want to see this guy on the field ASAP. He is electric.
The Steelers can place him on the exempt list for two weeks which wouldn’t count towards accrued time this season.
He’s coming back now on the assumption the Steelers will do just that, he needs to make sure he’s on the active roster by week 10 for this year to count as an accrued season.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Well this is weird,
With the Raiders ready to exit Oakland after 2018 if/when Oakland files a lawsuit against the Raiders for exiting Oakland, the Raiders need a home for 2019.
But the team’s eventual new home won’t be its short-term new home. Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas will not be the venue in which the Raiders play while waiting for their new venue to be completed.
So where will the Raiders play in 2019, if they’ll no longer be playing in Oakland? The most sensible option would be to play at Levi’s Stadium, but the stubbornness of the 49ers and Raiders may prevent that from happening. San Antonio has expressed interest in hosting the Raiders, and there’s still an NFL-caliber stadium in San Diego.
Los Angeles would be an intriguing option, but the Rams and Chargers surely wouldn’t be interested in having the Raiders infringe on their turf for a season, even if a viable location for playing the Raiders’ home games could be found in that market.
“It’s in our minds, but it’s really in the back of our minds right now,” owner Mark Davis said in late August. “We’re really concerned about 2018. Obviously, 2019 won’t be in Las Vegas, but it may have to be somewhere.”
Yes, it will indeed have to be somewhere, especially if Oakland ends up not being that somewhere a year earlier than anticipated.#RespectTheCultureComment

Somehow, I don't feel so sorry for Mark Davis' "plight".
The Raiders should've tried to work something out with the city of Oakland and the state of California.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

This is a pretty fun read about the what if scenarios around Drew Brees's free agency back in 2006

Re: NFL Off Topic
These new rules are totally screwing players up. Jerry Hughes had a sure fire sack on Mariota today but he just held him then let up then Mariota threw a pass that should've been a TD. (thanks Nick Williams for dropping the ball) If Williams had hung onto the ball and the Bills go on to lose there would be a TON of complaining going on.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: NFL Off Topic
This is the first year I've really had zero interest in NFL games...I've watched maybe 20 minutes total all year.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
My interest in the league as a whole is no where close to what it once was. Must admit I have found myself watching more than anticipated. The season has had its far share of entertaining games and moments, despite all the well talked about on the field issues.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I still watch the Bills regularly because i'm a glutton for punishment LOL
I've actually watched a couple of the primetime games from start to finish this year and they've been VERY entertaining (Cleveland and Baker's debut and the shootout between Minny and LAR) but yeah, i'm not super invested in other teams too much but I keep in touch through some podcasts.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I was locked in for decades but the last several years I watch the Steelers, the Irish and some primetime NFL games.
That's about it.Comment
