Here's a fun, sorta easy bit if trivia. Who are the only two Hall of Famers that played for both the Dolphins and Patriots?

Correct. He played for the Boston Patriots before joining the Dolphins and eventually going undefeated.

Right, the joke use to be that as soon as a higher up said your job is secure it meant that you were on your way out. Typically that was for coaches but I wouldn't assign to much value to what someone said prior to the draft. Teams don't make announcements on who they plan to draft ahead of time, and had Kliff said anything other than Josh being his guy everyone would know what that meant.

I’ve seen it speculated the payout was between $60-80M, FWIW.

That's some good "shut up and get out of our way" money there.

He isn't even worth that to a team without all the attention he also brings. Maybe the agreement can force him to say publicly he won't play again and retire so they stop bringing his name up all the time.

How many leagues does he have to say no to before people finally realize that he doesn't want to play football anymore.

League makes multiple billions per year so this doesn’t hit them so hard but WOW that’s a lot of money. Like, an alarming amount to make this go away. It was that bad, huh?!

Kaep didn’t even have to play football to get a not-quite-QB-size “contract.” Got the Nike sponsor too.
