I'll be kinda surprised if AT&T renews that actually. Or at least continues to pay a premium for exclusivity.
They've lost 1/5 of their pay TV users in 3 years. 20 million is still a lot, but the situation is worsening, not improving as they're streaming service also flounders.

They just recently cut their long standing relationship with the Dan Patrick show as well as the Rich Eisen show.Comment

Yeah man, I was a victim of the ripple effect of this major decline in business.
I hope the NFL goes with multiple partners for the Sunday Ticket. Honestly, DTV/AT&T just wasn’t up to par.
Still think Sunday Ticket is a rip-off. Nearly half the games any given week blacked out (TNF, 2-4 local games, SNF, MNF)... RedZone, though not the same, is such a better value IMO.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: NFL Off Topic
At&t bought DTV for the cash they brought in every month. They have already said they aren't launching any more satellites. They will continue it until it doesn't bring in enough money and sell it to Dish. Even with the subscriber loses, DTV still had a great product that At&t has done a great job at killing.

Dish is setting themselves up to be the next mobile provider. I don’t see them pouring money into NFL Sunday Ticket.
I think DTV will keep it for a good while only because the other options are limited.Comment

I meant that At&t will sell the satellites to Dish if they stop making enough money.
Yep Dish has been buying bandwidth for a long time, but they have yet to do anything with it. At&t could have used DTV for that, but they seem to have switched solely to 5g and streaming.

Re: NFL Off Topic
DTV already emailed me about having 2020 season of Sunday Ticket free.
I don't even know if I would have fought for it for free or a discount this year. I didn't get it last year so I didn't keep the package and considering how terrible the Texans are and how worthless they'll continue to be with Vladimir O'Brien at the helm on all fronts, I barely even care to watch.
I was using alternate arrangements. Even though I was super delayed and therefore couldn't react with friends in real time the way I usually dl and relying on internet connection to watch sucks, I was able to do it. It's the best to not have to rely on those things but honestly I'm watching the league less and less and if I'm hardly even invested in my own favorite team then what am I even doing.Comment

Am I the only that would love to see an all-22 cam all game?

They could easily do this like they do for the NCAA championship game and broadcast from other cameras angles on other channels.
The coaches cam had me hooked.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Owners met w/ players tonight in Indy. Players working on a revision to send back to the owners, might vote on it tomorrow and send it back to them and possibly get something done before the league year starts.
A few different tweets suggest the focus is all on compensation for the 17th game.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
New CBA that full player membership now will vote on would implement a 17th game no earlier than 2021 and expand the playoffs. It also caps the number of regular season games at 17 for the 10-year deal.********

If ratified by majority of players, new deal would give them the highest percentage of revenues of any American professional sport, going to 48% and eventually could climb higher than 48.5% depending on media rights. That would mean more than $5 billion in new money to players.********
