Haskins and Manziel’s numbers look eerily similar...

I think Haskins has a chance to come back from this though. Manziel was a full train wreck.

Hey, if worse comes to worst, we could see Haskins playing for the St. Louis BattleHawks after the Super Bowl haha.

EDIT: It looks like they aren't playing again until 2022 anyway. I know a team will pick him up (Eagles?), but even if not the sport will always have a place for him.

This game just got infinitely more juicy.

Browns are gonna have to earn their spot. Steelers I’m sure are chomping at the bit to keep ‘em out and now we get this extra piece... hooo boy.

I did feel Haskins was ranked too high after just one year of production. I feel scouts/evaluators fall in love with Physical Traits and overrate their ability to develop QBs.
You need the environment to allow the young QBs to develop. I like what Bills have done to help Allen develop. Got a WR1 and have different style WRs who can get open. Invested in O-Line. Have good good offense coaches in Daboll and Dorsey. That shows you don't need a offensive minded HC. You just need to invest in building around your QB and have good offensive assistant coaches.

I still think Jets should continue to invest in Darnold if there isn't a QB prospect they love. They didn't do a great job in developing and surrounding him with talent. Look at guys like Tannehill and Drake who looks better away from Gase. Give Darnold a WR1, continue to develop OLine, and competent coaching staff.

Maybe with a different coach. I could see him with a Bill Belichick or Mike Tomlin and they could probably fix him. If not he becomes a journeyman.

They've allowed 13 sacks in 15 games despite throwing the ball a billion times. He may get hit, he may get hurt but I'm betting he lives. [emoji39]

Everything you said is true (especially hiring a real coach), but do the Jets want to pay Sam?

That's the question. It leads to "Does Wilson/Fields have a higher ceiling than Darnold". Thats the question they need to answer. If the answer is no then they might be headed towards a tag situation. When it comes to a new coach they want their own guy. Either they feel they can develop him or don't want to be tied to Darnold.

NFLPA president wants to eliminate the pre-COVID-style offseason program.

NFLPA president and Browns center JC Tretter wrote a column Thursday detailing why he believes the league should eliminate the offseason program.

"Another change that COVID-19 dictated was the elimination of offseason practices," he wrote. "After experiencing that change, there is no reason for us to ever return to the previous offseason program. We are the only major sports league with an offseason program. The most physically demanding sport is the only league that brings their players back for extra practices outside of the season.

There's zero reason for the ridiculous hours that football coaches think are required to be effective and that's across all levels.

We're a few days away from Black Monday. Interested in what some of these will do. Think the Jags are in a good position with #1 pick, lots of cap space, and I believe 11 draft picks.

I don't see any surprise firings. I see Anthony Lynn keeping his job. Of those 9 losses, seven were 1 score games. As a Eagles fan, I wouldn't mind seeing a change in coaching and a new GM. I think Vikings could be a small possibility. Underperformed and defense took a big step back.

Every rookie entering a professional sports league should listen to Shannon's words...
"If your production doesn't match the tolerance level, they're gonna get you up out of there"

I saw first hand here in NY with the Giants and LT. We all know what he was up to, but the cat had HOF talent and always bought it on game day.
