If I were the Jags, going in the direction of college coaches, why not just go with Debo?

He gets his QB, he can bring his OC with him, he obviously knows the college landscape, ala Jimmy Johnson.

Why go with a guy that will claim burnout at the first sign of trouble?

John Schneider extended through 2027. Which means he will almost certainly outlast Pete.

Debo would be an idiot to leave his cushion job.

          2. Roseman is not a good GM. There's a reason Lurie was willing to put him in the back of the room when Chip came along saying all the right things. Roseman is not good. Not referring to you, but over the years people always making excuses for this guy and I'm tired of it. Now a SB winning coach has to go because he can't see Roseman's vision? Roseman's vision? This concept is laughable to any Philly fan. It's one thing to get rid of Chip and let Roseman stay. But all these decades living in the shadows of the Cowboys and Giants and Washington and we finally get a SB and now this? The 2017-18 season is over, but it will never be forgotten or taken for granted by Eagles fans.

          3. Pederson has made a lot of mistakes but he gives you what you want out of a head coach waaaaaay more than the other 2 give you what you want out of their positions.

And yeah, a SB win should have given him job protection for at least 2 more years. Look at the coaches around the league, the winners and the losers. Why would you ditch a head coach that just won the SB 3 years ago and you made the playoffs 2 of the last 3 years after? Of course Lurie knows something we don't but without this exclusive inside scoop I'm left scratching my head. Makes no sense from the outside looking in.

I’ve never really viewed Wentz as a running QB. Mobile... absolutely. He reminds me of Big Ben when he was younger in that he’s mobile in the pocket and extremely hard to bring down (for a QB).

            I agree.

            1) Any sign of pressure or if first read isn't there, he's going to escape pocket. I absolutely can't stand when he doesn't the spin out when the situation doesn't call for it. That's a guaranteed 7-10 yard sack. When he made mistakes, it was bone headed mistakes. It went from "WTF" to not even phasing you when it happened because it was expected. Can he be salvageable? Yes, but he NEEDS to be in the right situation.

            2) Lurie made all type of excuses for Roseman. Said that he scouts the right players, they just get selected before them. Dumbest thing I heard. That happens to EVERY team, it matters who you take when its your turn. The problem isn't who got drafted before them, it was who they passed on for players of same position. 95% of the mocks last year had us taking Ruggs(knew he wasn't going to slide) or Jefferson. I only saw 1 mock with Reagor because he was more of a speed guy.. JJAW could have been drafted in the 3rd or even 4th round between 2016 and 2017 draft, we only have 4 players still on team and no one from 2015 draft(might have been Chip Kelly). Lurie pretty much saying that we're a GM Factory because we had a couple guys hired as GMs elsewhere and could also have more. It doesn't matter when you're making bad decisions. For a cap wizard, we're about to be 75 million over the cap.

            3) I did feel that Pederson should have gotten at least one more year just because of how bad the situation is. Let him see if he can right the ship. If not, then at least the job would be a little more attractive in 2022 when it would have been easier to shed the bigger contracts. Now, you will have someone walking to a bad situation heading to a rebuild, with no cap, and having to choose between Carson or Hurts.

Yeah, some tend to undervalue these Powerhouse college jobs. Even someone like Matt Campbell with Iowa State or Pat Fitzgerald, they only leave a job like that when its a perfect situation. Unless NFL is the ultimate goal, why leave a good situation for a bad NFL job.

During the poor stretch we never finished as bad as 4 wins, but the team was in a rut. We stayed with him because he was a SB winning coach and what happened? We are right back in the thick of things.

Now you might be inclined to counter with Lamar being the reason but honestly, how many staffs would have did what Baltimore did with him? Harbough was willing to throw out everything about conventional QBs and tailored the team to Lamar.
Thats what SB victory caliber coaches bring to the table.

Philly is a mess going into next year. I would have given Pederson next year to try to right the ship. (Dependent on whether or not he truly lost the locker room and unlikely to win it back)

Great coaches adjust to the talent at hand. Give Harbaugh credit - instead of trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, he changed the system to fit Lamar's strengths. Parcells was like that, so was Pat Riley when he came here to NY.

As for Philly, it boggles my mind Pederson is gone, but Roseman stays. Every Eagle fan I've talked to (including my brother), wanted out as well.

Oh, he is totally a running QB. Just not labelled that way. One of my favorite moments with him was the Harry Houdini he pulled on Washington a few years ago. Hard to take down, yes, but ultimately in order to run upfield, not pass.

Once he lost his ability to run upfield, he fell off. Big time.

I had hoped he could be accurate from the pocket (especially on passes 15+ yards) but I was wrong.

Without the threat to run upfield defenses can just double (or bracket Ertz) and/or take away the short passing game. And without a commitment from the team to establish the run we became one dimensional with CW behind center. Is "one-half dimensional" a phrase? Because CW has no (consistent) accuracy beyond 10-15 yards. So we weren't even operating with a full passing game, just the short half.

I’m curious to see how the Bears are going to sell that they’re taking a step forward this off season if they’re keeping Nagy

                        Not surprised by that one.

Pete called out the offenses inability to adapt in his closeout presser.

Pretty good job, I would think. HOF QB, budding superstar WR, pretty solid skill players.

Pederson is from Washington St, as is his wife...

Maybe. Just saying, if you're J'ville, exploring college guys, why go with a goon like Meyer, with a history of issues across the board, when you may be able to land a guy that can put your franchise QB in the best possible position to succeed?

.. while paying said goon as if he were Lombardi.

Lots of talk about The Lions "being close" and trying to poach Steelers GM Kevin Colbert. Omar Khan had an agreement with the Texans before they did what the Texans do and is talking to other teams.
