    Re: NFL Off Topic

It would be nice if they moved back the coach hiring process to after the Superbowl. With long the NFL offseason is, there is no need for sense o lf urgency to hire a coach. It can be a distraction for the teams when they have coordinators who are getting HC interviews a couple days prior to a game. You either have teams who want to rush the process and hire a coach or some teams have to wait until after the Superbowl.

I don't see the issue of moving it until after the Superbowl. Less distractions for the playoff teams and the games become the primary focus. I actually think the process will be quicker after the Superbowl because teams wouldn't have to wait for restrictions.

Well seeing as how Goodell is still trying to get the Super Bowl to fall on President’s Day Weekend(mid-late February), I’m not sure it’s a good idea to basically tell teams that have HC openings that they have to wait almost 2 months after their season has ended to hire a HC.

Schefter says the Steelers refused to discuss trading Tomlin (who has an NTC regardless). Interesting that a team tried, I was suggesting that resolution after their loss. But looks like they are running it back.
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

It was the Bears that reached out and were rejected. I know they need more than just fixing the offense but Tomlin seems like a horrible choice given his struggles to choose an OC, plus the Bears can't afford to be giving up draft picks. I guess it shows that they're at least willing to spend money on a coach

I like the hire. Lions might see a regression if they lose both coordinators, VIkings are likely turning to McCarthy. I think Bears could see a jump. Just need to focus on the OL and add to the defense. They have the QB and playmakers to be a good offense

Johnson was my first choice but I'm still expecting the Bears to somehow **** this up. Bears are gonna Bears

I knew we'd lose him somewhere, but why does it have to be the Bears

Looks like Glenn might take the Jets job.

Seems like Jags are shooting themselves in the football by not wanting to move on from Baalke. It's known league wide that keeping Baalke could scare off top candidates

                        Jags fire Baalke.

Seema late in the process. They realized that Baalke was a repellant to the HC candidates

Loving the moves so far, if for no other reason potential landing spots for Monken are rapidly decreasing

Wow yeah he really must’ve been radioactive. Should’ve done it to begin with but damn, quite an indictment on Baalke as an executive.

I guess they figured "there's only 32 HC jobs, someone is going to take it". But when the Bucs OC turned the HC job down, that must've been the last straw. Should've done it from the jump. Now they are behind the 8 ball

I feel like if the Cowboys don't announce Schottenheimer as their new coach tomorrow then they're probably holding out for Kellen Moore. Neither one of those hires inspire much confidence
