I've always interpreted the "Patriot Way" as "Shut up and play".

Since when has it meant that the Patriots held players to a "higher standard"?

Never heard of the "Patriot Way" until this thread.

Maybe that's why I don't listen to national media.

If you don't think the Aaron Hernandez story can get any weirder, wait a few minutes, and it will. The Hartford Courant has a story that is sure to get imaginations running. Thaddeus Singleton III, an associate of Hernandez's with … Continue reading →

I still dont see what the big deal is. I dont think the Patriots could do anything but release the man. What else could they have done? What would a press conference about a guy they released for murdering a man do to sooth their fan's nerves at this point? Sorry you took this Patriots Way thing that seriously. I thought we all knew that was some fluff ESPN stuff. Oh well. The Patriots at the core are like any NFL team, they want to win point blank.

Football season needs to get here.

I know a thing or two about things being taken too serious in this thread. Football definitely needs to come asap, lol

While none have come close to Hernandez, I think it's safe to say that Corey Dillon, Randy Moss and Donte Stallworth among others weren't exactly choir boys when they were signed.

In fact, if anything, the "Patriot Way" was to sign questionable character guys and let Belichick/Brady influence them in a positive way. So Hernandez was a perfect fit in that regard. They just failed with him.

I was thinking today what if he gets off, he's just too calm. He must have a ace up his sleeve or he's all the way thrown off. Something is very weird about this case.

That's an understatement. It's super bizarre at this point.

It would be a crazy twist, but what if Hernandez was a confidential informant and he was helping build a case against his gang contacts ... back to reality, I don't anything can get him out of it other than someone else saying they shot him and Hernandez didn't know it was going to happen.

Investigating Hernandez' role in a 2007 shooting in Gainesville. And there's a Reggie Nelson reference, along with the Pouncey twins.

That 2007 class that the Gators signed has to be the biggest combination of talent and trouble that I've ever seen.

I'm seriously waiting for a report from ESPN detailing how they are investigating Hernandez' role in the Kennedy assassination.

We have this murder, 2012 double homicide, the dude getting shot in the eye in 2011 (or whenever that was) and now a 2007 murder investigation.

Also, Jimmy Hoffa is probably in his backyard. Should probably check that out.
