This isn't really accurate. According to the FBI:

Motivation was another central element discussed in various definitions; however, attendees felt motivation did not belong in a general definition, as it would make the definition overly complex.
The validity of spree murder as a separate category was discussed at great length. The general definition of spree murder is two or more murders committed by an offender or offenders, without a cooling-off period. According to the definition, the lack of a cooling-off period marks the difference between a spree murder and a serial murder. Central to the discussion was the definitional problems relating to the concept of a cooling-off period. Because it creates arbitrary guidelines, the confusion surrounding this concept led the majority of attendees to advocate disregarding the use of spree murder as a separate category. The designation does not provide any real benefit for use by law enforcement.
The different discussion groups at the Symposium agreed on a number of similar factors to be included in a definition. These included:
    • one or more offenders
    • two or more murdered victims
    • incidents should be occurring in separate events, at different times
    • the time period between murders separates serial murder from mass murder
In combining the various ideas put forth at the Symposium, the following definition was crafted:
Serial Murder: The unlawful killing of two or more victims by the same offender(s), in separate events.

Psychologists are interested in motivations/patterns/consistencies, but not the authorities.

I wouldn't consider Aaron Hernandez a serial killer. What he IS is more of an idiot who's got a violent nature coupled with the fact that he's watched too many gang banger movies. He's just the poster child of what happens when "Keepin' it Real Goes Wrong". He's no different than other young men out there packing heat, thinking they are OG's, popping off rounds, thinking shooting someone because because of a spilled drink or a scuffed Jordan make him look hard, and looking hard is sexy and powerful in their minds.

He's just an idiot who had access to firearms basically.

        Re: Aaron Hernandez Saga

Previously, Aaron Hernandez’s lawyers feared that the player’s fiancée had struck a deal with prosecutors to testify against Hernandez in exchange for immunity from her pending charge of lying to a grand jury.

Those fears have come to fruition, in the form an agreement that is no longer a secret.

Per multiple reports, Shayanna Jenkins has been granted immunity and will testify against Hernandez.

It’s a horrible sign for Hernandez, who now faces the introduction of chapter-and-verse details from Jenkins regarding things said and done by Hernandez before and after the body of Odin Lloyd was found in an industrial park near Hernandez’s home in North Attleboro. And since Hernandez and Jenkins weren’t married, anything he said to her can and will be used against him at trial, without the benefit of the marital privilege.

Hernandez’s laywers surely will attack his fiancée’s credibility by pointing out that she has wiggled off the legal hook by agreeing to testify against Hernandez. Still, Jenkins had Hernandez’s baby. She was engaged to marry him. Even if she’s protecting herself by doing it, she’s giving what potentially will be damning testimony against Hernandez.

He better hope his attorneys have more than 'yeah but she's a meanie head' left in his defense.

Huge for the prosecution. With Lloyd's texts and the security cam footage from Hernandez's home being declared inadmissible, and without the murder weapon, I thought there was a good chance Hernandez would walk.

Hopefully this is the big piece that gets a guilty verdict.

I imagine covering up for his sloppy crimes finally took its toll on her. Little good it does thier daughter if both Aaron and her are behind bars. Whatever she has to share must be good if immunity was offered.

Even if his dumb *** manages to walk he still faces double murder charges in his other case. I believe the prosecution actually has the murder weapon in that case.

I thought the charges for the double murder case were dropped because of insufficient evidence. Good to know that's still out there as well.

So do we know when Belichick is supposed to testify? Because I have been waiting for this ever since he got arrested 1.5 years ago.

I would think he would be testifying. And to see if he knew that Hernandez did anything illegal. Because I remember hearing that he went to Belichick and said he was having some trouble and then Belichick sent him out to California, I think. Or the defense could call him as a character witness. In order to get the sentence reduced.

Just found something that says both BB and Kraft are listed in the list of potential witness by the prosecution. That list includes 305 people.

I doubt he ever sees the stand. Especially now that the fiancee is testifying.

Here is something that is puzzling me. I read all these reports that a car rental employee found a bottle, a shell casing, and chewed cotton candy gum.

They saw Hernandez buy the gum at a gas station earlier, so it's like "oh the puzzle comes together", but they never say the shell casing has any relevance to the murder of Odin loyd. The evidence found is only relevant if the shell casing is from the murder. The media is throwing that story at us, like "see, he did it"

I get that there is a mountain of other evidence against the guy, but I also digest a lot of this stuff from the media pointing out his guilt, and when you dissect it, it doesn't really point to anything compelling.

                              That's what the media does.

Makes you believe what they want so no matter what future evidence comes out, you refuse to believe anything else.
