Re: 2014 NFL Draft Discussion Thread

Lots of talk about the Bills trading up for Clowney to the point where you're hearing stuff from the front office. I really don't like the idea, some have said it's a smoke screen in order for them to pick up Mack and again, not so sure about all this craziness.

At least the Bills FO is being very aggressive.

He reminds me of Marc Bulger - Bulger threw a nice ball, and threw it accurately, but Marc Bulger, much like Teddy Bridgewater isn't fit to lead a group of girl scouts on a hiking trip. Most 'experts', even Mayock knock the kids confidence - he has none.

The best thing that could happen to Teddy, is that he ends up in Cleveland, so when he does bust, and he will, his supporters can just blame the organization for ''ruining'' yet another ''stud'' quarterback.

I am loving me some Johnny Manziel, though.
Bout to make me argue against #JohnnyFootball...

What ways do you see Bridgewater showing a lack of leadership? When he played the last game of the regular season in 2012 pretty much broken in half? His teammates don't view him as a leader do they? That's why they were there to pick him up every time he got knocked down? Moxy? WTF is Moxy and what the hell does it have to do with being a pro QB? Does Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers have moxy?

Bulger took a couple teams to the playoffs didn't he? Just making sure.

He sure lacked confidence when he curb stomped the vaunted SEC's Florida, huh? Or when he scored a last minute touchdown against UCF?

You like Manziel? He showed awesome leadership getting sent home from Manning camp, huh? Or getting caught up in the off season before last year and getting suspended a half of the first game, huh? Or turning his pro day into a concert? The pro day that some coaches were disgusted by. But his bag hands draw you to him, right?

You and your boy Rosie are what makes talking football with some people similar to the feeling of banging your head against a brick wall.

The one thing I can say about this draft is its the first time in a few years going into the actual day of the draft we have no idea what Houston is going to do with there pick. I do have to give them credit for keeping a lid on it nationwide and locally.

Ive heard the Bills rumor about swapping with Houston and also giving houston there 2nd and next years 1st and 3rd

Ugh, can't wait for this to start and be over!

I know I'm in the minority, but the NFL finally did it. There is just far too much over-saturation by the league this year to the point where I'm really turned off from the whole Draft and anything NFL. Add to the fact I've had to endure countless asinine articles of "Manziel to the Cowboys" just so lazy, uninspired writers can get a few more clicks on their article - don't even get me on my soap box on how everything about that statement is wrong. Then there are the "draft gurus" - guys who have no credentials, expertise or scouting experience weighing in on a process they no nothing about. Throw in the millions of "unnamed sources" and you basically have an offseason of bull chips, non-stories, and TMZ-gossipy like fandom.

Day 1 of the draft is mainly a letdown for me since it's always about the advertisers.

                        8PM start. One round?

Give me a Saturday morning start and run through the evening. I'd block out my schedule and sit on my couch all day long.

If Dallas doesn't get one of Pryor, Dix or Donald it will be a slightly disappointing first round. With that said, I'd be fine with them trading down into the late first round where they could grab Ealy, Hageman or Ford. So long as they get a better return than they did last year.

Possibly, but probably not. I'm all about the action and not the hype, hence why I watch the games and not the pre and post game over-over-anaylsis.

I don't need to spend 15 minutes between picks listening to guys screaming over each other about prospects when more then half of them won't be correct. I don't want to see the same highlight reels I've been seeing for an entire football season. I just want to know who teams are picking - that's it.

The sad unfortunate by-product of the NFL's amazing success is the sport itself is more a spectacle than anything else at this point. As an avid lover of the game of football, this new brand and hype is just not my thing.
