Re: 2017 Transaction Thread
Marty saying he's pretty sure he's going to retire after the season, this was after Rodgers was injured. He doesn't play in the Monday night game because of a mysterious shoulder injury that popped up late in the week.
McCarthy said today he isn't playing Sunday, either because of mysterious shoulder injury.
Retirement or does he want to play for a SB contender. Pats anyone? lol. 21 million on a 3 yr salary.Comment

Re: 2017 Transaction Thread
According to Yates, the Packers are arguing that Bennett failed to disclose a medical condition which led to the release, and it will be interested to see if there are any battles over the remainder of his contract. Bennett is on a 3-year deal worth a total of $21 million, with $6.3 million guaranteed in the form of a signing bonus. Given the accusatory designation It seems likely that the Packers will at the very least attempt to recoup a pro-rated portion of that bonus, and the salary cap that comes with it.

It's been a soap opera, Shiz, especially, the last few weeks.

Marty B is back with the Patriots as they picked him up.
Hope he balls out again like he did last year.

Marty B vs. the Packers, current and former players:
The twist and turns of Martellus Bennett's divorce from the Green Bay Packers have now put a spotlight on the team's physician. Bennett posted his side of his release on his Instagram page Friday afternoon. He accused team physician Dr. Pat McKenzie of pushing Benn
Yeah, sounds like Bennett might be tripping. I'd rather he just keep it real and say that once Rodgers got hurt, he didn't want to stick around anymore, since that's pretty much looking to be the case here.Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 11-11-2017, 09:25 AM.#RespectTheCultureComment

Jermichael Finley is one to praise and be critical of the Packers on Twitter and he came to the defense of Dr. McKenzie.

Seems like drama follows wherever the Bennetts go.
I don't believe a word of what he says.Comment

I generally agree, people just want honesty and transparency typically.
But it’s Martellus’ health. If he wants to play through pain, he can choose to do so. If he wants to get season ending surgery, that’s his decision as well. The medical staff can’t tell him he has to play.
So it doesn’t matter whether he wanted to play on a team on a sinking ship or not. The injury is there — he doesn’t want to forgo surgery for a few more months to play on a losing team. The opportunity to play with NE and win another championship? Suddenly that pain seems a lot more bearable.
I’d understand being upset as a Packers fan, but telling a guy he needs to play through injury isn’t anyone’s place but the player.
I’m actually interested to see if this leads to other stories of pushback by a team to play through an injury. I mean, we just saw Russ Wilson go in to the concussion tent for .5 seconds. These teams don’t really care about their players health so it’s up to the player to protect themselves.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

I’ve always been pro-player when it comes to injuries so when I️ found out that the team was going after his money because of an “undisclosed injury” that the team claimed they didn’t know about this injury when they first signed him back in February, I️ thought that was BS.
Especially since our Medical Staff is TOO conservative with player injuries. I’ve seen them hold out Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson for pulled hamstrings even after they’ve been full participants in practice for 2 straight weeks but now they’re going to FORCE someone to play with a torn labrum? If you’ve followed this team closely, especially in regards to how we’ve treated player injuries, then you can see why I’m calling BS on this.
I’ve believe Bennett that is about money and that he wants to leave because Rodgers isn’t there. Because let’s be real, if Rodgers isn’t hurt, do you really believe he’d be wanting to walk out after 7-8 games? I️ did find it funny that he said he was going to retire after this year a few days after Rodgers gets hurt though. And maybe he was going to do that regardless, but I️ just found the timing of it funny more than anything.Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 11-12-2017, 11:44 AM.#RespectTheCultureComment
