      Re: 2022 Offseason Thread

Maybe it was expected and I missed it, but I was surprised to hear that the Browns released Landry.

My sympathy for Browns fans has surpassed my division rival dislike of the team. Just two seasons ago there was talk of them being one of the most talented teams in the league and that their future finally looked bright. But thats falling apart and they watched another traditionally poor franchise reach the SB and ascend to elite status. Its like fate has decreed that the Browns will always Browns.

        Rodgers new deal is official
        2022-$42 million
        2023-$59.5 million
        2024-$49.3 million

Plus some dummy years to reduce the cap number

Rams are releasing Johnny Hekker. Given their history of offensive woes, I’m hoping the Bears break the bank for him

Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

Jaguars fans on Twitter are trying very, very hard to defend that Kirk contract. Bless their hearts.

So pretty much the whole NFC South other than the Bucs are after Watson, with the Falcons emerging as a “sleeper”, per Schefter.

In their defense, it’s only the 2nd worst contact given to someone named Kirk this week

They recently re-worked Ryan's contract this past week, that dead money hit would be massive if they trade him

The Schefter article where he says Atlanta is a sleeper team seems like little more than him fulfilling an update a day quota. Article concedes its a longshot, but then why dedicate a top headline to it?

Anyway sounds like the trade has a free agency flavor to it. Apparently the parameters of any trade are agreed to and all that is left is for Watson to inform Houston who he will waive his clause for.
