It does seem like it might be ATL. If Ryan agreed to push back that bonus deadline a few days, that would allow Ryan to find a trade for himself since he also has a NTC. Where ATL is at now, to give up the required assets to get Watson, will push that rebuild even further. Not to mention the dead money hit they will get from trading Ryan. They got to hope that Watson's presence will bring some free agent WRs over that.

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Would be pretty wild of him or any player to be thinking this far out, especially when you’re trying to win a ring.
Rodgers is here for at least 3 years so why the hell would he be worried about 2025 post Rodgers Era Packers?(not saying he is BTW, just talking out loud)
If there is no opt out, it makes zero sense if he is trying to win a ring. You leave a division where you are pretty much given to win every year because the Vikings, Bears, and Lions are all too incompetent to build a consistent team, and you go to a division and a team where you probably do not get out of and into the playoffs?
As a Vikings fan, bye. As a football fan, what the hell are you doing, bro?

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
If Atlanta trades for Watson they will be one of the worst teams in the NFL next year. So odds are the 1st your giving up next year will also be in the top 10. Their is no way Atlanta is more then like a 7 win team when you factor in the supporting cast and Watson suspension that's coming. Atlanta doesn't have cap space so atleast this year no FA are coming even if they wanted to.

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Does Rodgers' contract allow for any kind of opt out after this year? If so, conspiracy theory. This was planned between him and Adams. He is still sour that the 49ers passed on him, so rather than choose them, he goes to the other California team that needs a quarterback.
Rodgers leaving the Packers for any reason (other than a suspension ala Ridley) would hammer the team with a mid-high ten-figure cap penalty. The earliest he could leave without completely detonating the team would be post June 1 in 2024.

Carr seems like a much more levelheaded guy, which counts for something. It's closer to home, its his original favorite team, and tbh as a megarich 29 year old I'd prefer Vegas to Wisconsin as well. And I enjoyed living in Wisconsin.Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.Comment

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
It's coming out that the Panthers were asked by Watson's agent to guarantee the 3rd and 4th years of his contract and the Panthers declined, which led to them being no longer considered.
They were willing to trade 5-6 major assets for him, but didn't want to guarantee his age 30 and 31 seasons?
This makes zero sense. If it's true, it just shows how much of a cluster**** the organization is right now. No direction at all

But it’s not like they would be doomed forever or unable to rebuild their team going forward if a trade were to go down. We already know when he’s on the field, he’s one of the better QBs out there and we all know that some QBs can elevate the talent(especially at WR)with their play.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
It appears to be a lock from the player side that one of A.J or Dion Jones will be in the trade plus Jarret being cut. Three 1st plus some 2nds is unfortunately what I'm hearing also. Atlanta has two 2nd this year (julio trade)
The reason Atlanta wasn't anything special this year is because the roster has basically zero talent outside of Pitts. You don't make a blockbuster trade for a QB when you have no foundation of a team. The talent would be even worse next year and your not going to have your 1st round pick. Right now Damian Williams is the starting HB and Olamide Zaccheaus and Frank Darby are the starting WR with a bad OL.
Watson hasn't proven he is the kind of QB to make the talent around him better. The front office also can't pick mid round guys and turn them into reliable players.
Record aside, they weren’t anything special or worth bragging about this year so it’s not like nothing would change.
