    lol, wow.

Deshaun Watson gets a fully guaranteed 5 year $230M contract. That is $80M more than the previous record for fully guaranteed money at signing ($150M). This deal was negotiated by David Mulugheta of Athletes First.

That is a ton of cash.

On a Steelers note, looks like JuJu is gone to KC. Good kid, wish him the best. Steelers desperately need a WR now.

Sources: The #Browns and #Texans are in agreement on a trade for Deshaun Watson. It’s three first-round picks, a third-rounder and late-round pick swap, a fourth for a fifth.

            It’s done. He’s a member of the #Browns.

A fully guaranteed deal gives them no cap flexibility tools what so ever. And man, you add Watson to a team with a fraudster owner and Kareem Hunt in the backfield... Yikes that would be a hard one to cheer for.

                A new fully guaranteed contract?

I'm guessing Cleveland didn't want to fully guarantee it at first, but once Baker requested a trade they called Watson like "so about that fully guaranteed contract..."

There's always flexibility, for example I wouldn't be surprised next offseason a restructure, add some voidable years, pay out some bonus money and stretch the deal out.

Compensation wise its actually not as much as I expected. Not saying its drastically less but I expected one more non 1st pick.

All teams just continue to kick the can down the road and when the bill is due, they’ll kick it further. It happens every year.

If teams want to create space/flexibility, they can do that easily.

There's always flexibility in when you pay the bill, I think what he meant to say was that there's no escaping the full bill. There's no point where they would be able to cut their losses early

Watson’s agent definitely earned his money. His 2022 salary is $1 million, so if he’s suspended that’s all he risks losing
