Rahim Moore is going to be back on the active roster this week after being MIA for most of the year. I hope he can step up and start delivering. It would be nice to have a young stud in the secondary. McCarthy looked good in the preseason...not so much against the Vikings.

I felt pretty good about Chicago earlier in the week, and now I am starting to worry a bit. Maybe all the Bears' trash-talking is getting to me...

I'd love to see the Timmy Train roll right over Urlacher, Briggs, and Peppers - especially after all the talking.

          Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

After seeing Moore in the pre-season I was pretty excited to see what he was going to turn into. He had that big hit in one of the pre-season games that he was fined for and then it seemed like he disappeared. I thought he would fill Dawkins place nicely, but even with Dawkins age, he's proving he can still play at a high level.

Same goes with McCarthy. He looked good in pre-season, but that move Harvin put on him showed that he still needs some work.

Denver's secondary is starting to concern me a little bit. Granted Goodman made a huge play at the end of Minnesota, but Like 86 said, he was getting owned pretty much all day. As much as I like Champ, he is getting old and Denver needs to start looking at building that secondary up. It looked like they were starting a youth movement with Perrish, Rahim and Nate, but obviously some of that has gone to the wayside.

You would think that this would finally calm down some of those 'Tebow first' fans that were ready to lynch Elway.

I think Elway coming out and saying these things can go a long way for a developing quarterback.

I never had a problem with what Elway said, even his first comments about how he didn't know if Tebow was the QB of the future. I felt the same way, but I had growing optimism (and it's still growing). Given what Tebow has done, I think that even if he were to lose the rest of the games this year, he should be given the initial starting role for next year.

Given all the OTA's and Elway's tuteledge next year I think we are on the verge of seeing something great from this kid as an overall QB.

I still haven't made sense of what just occurred, but that was incredible. Broncos' WRs get out of being the scapegoat and hand the label to Marion Barber. Just crazy, that's all.

I was literally speechless and numb after Prater drilled that kick. I thought they were dead in the water against Minnesota and to think that they could pull another one off was miraculous.

I'm not an extremely religious man, but holy cow...

Is it easier to say that Chicago lost that game or that Denver won it? Barber going out of bounds was a mistake, but you gotta give Woodyard and the defense a lot of credit for making yet another play when they needed it.

It's beyond explanation. There is no way that happened. How is it that it KEEPS happening? That game was over. I had already resigned myself to a horrible loss, thinking about all of the fall-out that was coming. I could hear Urlacher, Briggs, and Peppers running their mouths about Tebow (which they did anyway).

That win, regardless of how it happened, was huge. If Denver loses that game, I think the Chargers win the division. I could see it again - Denver collapsing once again down the stretch and missing the playoffs.

Not this time... and I still can't fathom what has happened.

Yeah. I gotta say, I'm getting this thing where I'm watching, and I'm thinking "I dunno, it's Tebow. SOMETHING might happen." And wow.

And yeah, Barber messed up, but Tebow and Co. still had to execute, catch the ball, etc. And 59 and 51 yard field goals? Those are no gimmie's, and Prater crushed that ball like it was nothing.

Prater has been amazing. There was no doubt about either of those kicks. How clutch has that guy been? He's won the game against Miami, NYJ, San Diego, Minnesota, and now the Bears.

Tebow gets a lot of the credit, and there is no mistaking the aura that surrounds Tebow fuels this team, but they win as a team.

I love what's going on, even if it is inexplicable. However, the way Denver is running their offense in the first three quarters is frustrating. I think they are being WAY too conservative. I get that they want to play a field position game and keep the game close so that they have a chance at the end. I just think they could be really dangerous if they would utilize Tebow's abilities as a passer sooner. It would loosen the defense up and make their running game that much more effective. Give the defense one more thing to worry about.

If they come out next Sunday and continue with all of their three-and-outs, I'm afraid they are going to find themselves in a huge hole. I'd like to see them mix up the tempo and go no-huddle. I've never understood why Denver doesn't take advantage of their homefield elevation. At that elevation, a no-huddle offense will tire the defense out. Tebow seems to thrive out of it anyway. Why not try it?

                        Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

This was an encouraging loss. We beat ourselves in this game. You will not beat playoff-caliber teams by turning the ball over in your own zone three times. That's just going to kill you. And then to give Tom Brady less than 40 yards to pay-dirt won't cut it. Add to that some bad penalties, and you WILL lose.

But that being said, the Broncos were in it and were even controlling the Patriots. It wasn't until we shot ourselves that the Patriots took off. So it was encouraging to see that we can hang with the Patriots and very well could've beaten them if we played a clean game.

I was also very impressed by some of the passes Tebow threw. He had several very nice passes into tight coverages. I recall one pass that he threw into the seam of coverage. It was a nicely-timed pass that he dropped between three defenders. That's the kind of vision we need to see in Tebow. I'm also impressed that he remains the kind of player who takes care of the ball (the one fumble notwithstanding). Barring any wackiness, I'm pretty encouraged for the future.

Lastly, a loss like this is at a perfect time. It was to a high level team with two games to go. It doesn't hurt our play off chances, and it offers a barometer for the team. It also acts as a bit of a wake up call and motivator for the team, so that they can remember what happened in this game when we get to the play offs. They now have two games to apply this lesson and make strides just in time for the "real season."

I agree. I am disappointed they lost, but more because they were not only in that game, but they HAD control of it. You can't turn the ball over three times (let alone three times in your own end) against a team like the Patriots and expect to win (Cosby, what the hell where you thinking?). It also hurt facing Brady with two rookie safeties.

I didn't expect a win here, but after the first quarter I really thought they had a chance to do it. If they are going to make the playoffs, they need to earn it. Hopefully they win out, but all they need is the KC game. Hopefully it doesn't come down to that. I don't want that storyline should it go the other way.

I don't care what anybody else says; Tebow looked good. That deep ball he threw on a rope to Thomas was impressive. McGahee needs to get healthy.

                            Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

Sadly, I think this game showed how far away we are from being a team with a strong defense.

I gave Denver credit for making plays when it mattered on defense, but I was never sold that they were a top defense...or even a middle of the pack defense. I think they have some key players in place, but their secondary needs work...and lots of it.

Personally, I would not be upset if they let Cosby go. His only job is on special teams and you need to be smarter than that.

Denver cannot afford to lose the turnover battle against Brady and the Patriots. Especially when they get the ball with primo field position. Denver was well in control of that game up until Ball fumbled. Then the wheels came flying off. I would've really have like to see how that game would've played out given only 1 turnover. I was fully expecting Denver to rush for 300+ yards the way they were cutting up the Patriots defense in the first quarter.

I agree that this loss can be a real eye opener and a good barometer to see how this team reacts. I have seen past Bronco teams and their collapses late in the year. I'm interested to see how they respond against the Bills.

                              So, not a great game.

Tim Tebow needed a game like this. Now he has some learning experiences he can draw upon. He can review the tape and see why they were bad reads. But I can't really blame Tebow for this, or the defense. I suppose I can put a fair amount of blame on special teams, who had to rely on Prater to make tackles on two consecutive kick offs.

In this game, the Broncos were out-coached on both sides of the ball. Buffalo ran rampant on the Denver nickel package, exploiting a coaching decision of having a 3-3-5 nickel instead of a 4-2-5 nickel. Secondly, Mike McCoy and John Fox coached themselves into FIVE straight three-and-outs in the first half. In that course, I think they threw the ball twice. One of those throws coming on a 3rd and 18, I believe. When you're getting stuffed over and over again on the run, you need to change it up. This mentality of doing the same thing over and over again and expecting it to magically work suddenly isn't going to cut it.

Then, in the second half, while the Bills defense is brimming with confidence and the Broncos cannot run the ball, we finally decide to air it out. And of course, we see what happens when an offense decides to play one-dimensional.

It's time for the coaches to start playing a more balanced attack. They were just out-everything'd by a bad team.

I'm tired of the late season collapses. This is the third time in four years they have been 8-5. It would be nice to see them finish for once. They haven't won their last regular season game since 2007, and that was against Minnesota to finish 7-9.

The loss to the Bills was disappointing, but it really didn't have much of an effect on anything (maybe wildcard possibility). They'd still have to beat the Chiefs to win the division. If they let Orton come back to town and knock them out of the playoffs... I don't even know. It couldn't get much more embarrassing than that.

It's also sickening to look at Denver's home record going into this game: 3-4. Yuck. They are 5-3 on the road. That used to translate into a 13-3 or 12-4 record. I hate that they've lost that homefield advantage. I miss the "Go Broncos" back and forth in the stands ... the celebratory ticker-tape at the NE corner of old Mile High ...the true Rocky Mountain Thunder... the 'real' South Stands.

If they lose Sunday, it will be a big step backwards.
