Ball had 4.2 YPC and Johnson had 5.5 YPC

Edit: We should also keep Will Ta'ufo'ou, just because that's a ballin name.

True, but those numbers came as they spelled McGahee. Neither running back, IMO, could really carry the load. They're good change of pace running backs. Giving either one of them 25 - 30 carries a game consistently would wear them down quickly. We need a back that can take that load every game, and allow McGahee to complement him and be the 3rd down back.

Tebow has begun working with UCLA offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone. It's great news that Tebow is getting on this thing now. I don't know anything about Mazzone, but I am happy to hear that Tebow is not wasting any time.

Yeah, that's good news. Mazzone is very well respected as a QB coach, and Rivers will be working with him as well.

Watching this highlight video really has me excited for Tebow next year. I know this is like every highlight he's ever had and you could make one of his lowlights that is twice as long, but man, he's exciting to watch.

Like I said in the other thread... I think this is Elway's out on the Tebow issue.

I think if they can pull it off, I say do it.

I don't see it as an out but as a no brainer.

Regardless of how we feel about Tebow, if you can afford Manning and he wants to come, I would take him any day of the week.

I'm with you on what you said in the other thread though, at first I didn't think anything of this but the more I think about it and read about it, it seems like it is more realistic than I initially thought.

So hypothetically speaking (and I know I'm getting ahead of myself here but this is just for discussion), what do you do with Tebow if Manning were to sign with the Broncos?

I would love for him to stay and learn what he can from Manning. I think it would be the best thing that ever happened to him but I just don't know if that's possible.

I think aside from the Jets and maybe the Dolphins simply because of location, the Broncos make the most sense for him.

Manning would be a ggreat mentor for 2-3 years while Tebow develops.

Yup...I think you can count on 2 years out of Manning. This could be the best thing to ever happen to Tebow, sitting behind one of the best ever. It's a no-brainier if you can get it done.

I trade Tebow now while he's worth something. Ride Peyton Manning for three years, allow him to bring along the rest of the team and buy Elway and Co. time to build properly. Have the sense to draft a kid who can sit behind Manning for a year or so and soak it in.

You can't have Manning and Tebow on the same team, IMO. The circus would be ridiculous. It'd be this constant distraction all year long. Peyton Manning is going to have some bumpy games early as he adjusts to a new environment for the first time in over a decade. The last thing we need, when that happens, is a QB controversy.

If Manning comes here, ship Tebow out and get something for him, even if it's just a 5th or 6th round pick. Use that pick in the draft and fill some holes.

I think you have to trade him. I understand the thought of keeping him and letting him learn behind Manning, but I don't see that working. Keeping him would be a detriment to the biggest part of Tebow's game. We all know he's a physical QB where running is a huge part of what he does, and he can't afford to lose three or four of his 'prime' years when he is in the best physical shape to take advantage of that aspect of his game. Plus, I agree with 86...Denver doesn't need the QB controversy should Manning struggle a bit in the beginning.

I say trade Tebow and DJ to Jacksonville for the #7 pick. Jacksonville needs Tebow and Tebow's stock may never be any higher than it is now. DJ's substance abuse and huge salary bonus that is coming due probably means he's done in Denver anyway.

The more I think about this, the more I am going to be disappointed if it doesn't happen.

Let's not judge DJ yet. From his statement, I think there's a lot more going on there.

Not judging... just wouldn't be surprised if he has played his last down in Denver. The truth is that he isn't worth what Denver is due to pay him.

How do you figure? He had a solid year despite dealing with an early injury. Moreover, he's played every single LB position. One year the Mike, another the Will, then another the Sam. He's been swapped around constantly, and yet continues to play at a high level. I think DJ Williams is an anchor, and linebacker is already a position of need. Letting go of DJ Williams would put us further back on linebackers.
