Denver is the ONE play off team from last year who has a question mark at QB. They have a young nucleus that is ready to gel. They have leaders, youth, good O-line, good defense, and a great running game. You have John Elway who will see eye to eye with Manning and understand his mentality. They have a friendship. You have a respected franchise and one of the most respected owners in the league. The head coach is malleable, he showed he's willing to go with what works and isn't driven by ego.

Give our defense a QB who scores more than 13 points and keeps them off the field and they will be a terror. Give our offensive line a QB who gets rid of the ball on time and you will see pro bowlers on that line. Give Peyton manning our running game and watch D Thomas eat up catches on the play action. Imagine Manning hitting him in stride. Thomas already proved he has Beast Mode on speed dial.

Manning is a smart man, he sees all this. The Dolphins are a massive question mark. The Cardinals are the Cardinals. Tennessee? So what. All those teams have something we have, but we have more. Peyton walks in here, and we are instant Super Bowl contenders without question. And besides, he'd look good in Orange and Blue.

      Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

We are all Bronco fans here, and I am trying to look at this objectively...but I honestly don't see a reason why Denver wouldn't be his choice. He will be given total control over the offense. Manning was most successful when he had a defensive minded coach (Dungy) and he will have that again with Fox. With Fox and Del Rio focusing on the defense and Manning running the offense, that's got to be attractive.

I see the Broncos losing Eddie Royal in free agency, meaning the Broncos need another receiver. Easy fix that also entices Manning....bring in Reggie Wayne and perhaps even Dallas Clark. Can you imagine Manning running that no-huddle offense in Denver...at altitude?!?!

Earlier, I expressed my concerns about Denver becoming a 'cheap' organization. I guess this would put that to rest! It's nice to hear Bowlen say he wants to win championships again.

Get this done! It's going to be so disappointing if they don't.

I'll be very disappointed if it doesn't happen, but I'll take some comfort in knowing that our team was one of the major contenders for him. It will be nice to know that our team is willing to do what it takes to win.

It'll be interesting to see how everyone looks at Tim Tebow if Manning doesn't come here.

Yeah, and what will they do as far as putting a team together sans Manning? Will they be aggressive in free agency? I kind of hope not. They usually get into trouble with free agency. At the same time, it will be difficult to go from 'instant SB contender' with Manning to 'I don't know if they can even win eight games' without him. The mantra has been that they will build through the draft, but Manning is totally different.

I need to come off of this Manning stuff in case it doesn't happen. I'm setting myself up for a huge fall.

If they sign Manning, I'll up my OS membership!

Yeah, I think their approach changes drastically in free agency depending on which road the Broncos ride down. With Manning, you go out and get him some weapons like you mentioned. Without Manning, you need to really focus on the running game and defense along with a veteran back up QB. And of course, it alters how much cap room they have to spend. Either way, I'd like to see us sign some secondary.

I still think Elway and Co. believe in building through the draft and supplementing through free agency.

                  @AdamSchefter:

Free-agent safety Brandon Meriweather plans to visit the Denver Broncos tonight.

Signing Meriweather would be awesome. I haven't heard how that went. Maybe Denver is waiting for certain things to play-out.

No surprise that Shanny grabbed Royal.

So 86, you say that Tennessee doesn't really concern you regarding Manning. Why? Tennessee is where I think he's going to go. Maybe it's just his college ties that make me think that, I don't know.

                      Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

I think there's a major reason why Manning went to Denver and Arizona, but Miami and Tennessee coaches are coming to Manning. These are courtesy visits, Manning giving these teams due diligence but little more. It won't be about money, and the Broncos can open the pocket book wider than anyone anyways.

If he really wants a Super Bowl, I think it's either Denver or Arizona. I think the John Elway factor is huge.

I agree with that. The Titans are in the drivers seat. Free agency has started and the Titans have the ability to sign him during his visit. The Broncos didn't have that opportunity. As an ex-car dealer, Elway knows that once the target leaves the building, the chance of a sale drops dramatically.

I hope I am wrong, but I think Peyton is signing with Tennessee.

Reports are that Peyton Manning to be flown to Tennessee. That does change everything.

If Manning really wanted to play for Denver, I think he would have signed already. He is calculating and and likes to think things through, but I don't see this ending in Denver's favor anymore. This isn't a courtesy trip. He wouldn't do that. He told KC and Seattle straight up 'no'.

Bud Adams won't let him leave without signing. I don't like that guy.
