M&T is an awesome stadium. I haven't been to nearly enough but I haven't been to one I'd rather the Ravens had so far. Sound system, location, not really a bad seat, etc.
Yeah...I'm sure you enjoyed that game much more than I did! I don't remember too many high-points. Great game atmosphere, though. The Ravens fans were pretty cordial to opposing fans - even in the sports bar I was at prior to the game. I did get a quite a bit a ribbing leaving the stadium after the game. Luckily for me there was more to that trip than just the Broncos-Ravens game. I also made it up to Fenway and also across the street to Camden Yards. The icing on the cake was supposed to be a Monday Night Broncos' win. Not meant to be, I guess.

So where is the 'Official Ravens' 'Birds-of-a-Feather' Thread?

Yeah, Ravens fans are interesting like that... in a good way. Opposing team fans don't get too much trouble if they keep it clean. Sad thing is it probably comes from being used to so many Yankees and Red Sox fans taking over Baltimore, everyone else (even for other sports) gets a bit of a pass. Did you drive up to Boston? That's a hike.

The thread's here somewhere, lol. Thing is they pick late in the draft and Ozzie pretty much goes best pick available and there are so many different directions that the team could use on the first pick there isn't much to talk about. No reason to go on about Flacco's comments or Rice not reporting yet. It'll probably pick up a bit during/after the draft.

Yeah, I drove. Flew into Baltimore and then took a weekend sports road trip up to Boston. We stopped in NYC on the way back. Not too bad of a drive. When you are used to to Midwest, an 8 hour drive is nothing.

Nobody has really commented on Denver's schedule. We've known the opponents for a while now, maybe that's why.

I think it's funny how different the schedule looks now that Manning will be under center.

I guess that's true about the Midwest. The drive isn't too bad if you've never been on the East coast either, since you cover an area that goes through Baltimore, Philly, NYC and Boston. Throw in DC and that pretty much covers the big sports markets on the East coast.

I think it's hilarious and bizarre that TV shows spent hours talking about the schedule. To me, the schedule means nothing beyond the first couple of games. We just have no idea how teams are going to play. People say "oh look, the Saints, the Texans, the Falcons, etc etc." We just have no idea what's going to happen with those teams and how they'll play.

The schedule means zilch to me. My focus is squarely on next week's draft. So long as we get a DT within the first two rounds, I'll be pleased. CB and DT are my 1st and 2nd round expectations. RB/QB in the 3rd/4th, whichever way it falls. After that, a WR, guard, and perhaps another rotational/project DT or a MLB.

Yeah, I agree with that. I still think the schedule looks a lot different now that Manning is the QB. It would look awful daunting with Tebow under center.

Back in the day, I used to look at all of the Broncos games as winnable. I expected them to win every game, even though I know that's not realistic. The last couple of years has been anything but that. Recently I'd even approach games with an attitude of 'just try not to embarrass yourselves'. This year, that 'all games are winnable' feeling is back, and it feels good.

Good thing for us this year is deep at DT. I was shocked when they didn't take a DT at all last year. Elway is going to hold to taking the best player available, and I am glad to hear that. It has served the Packers and Steelers well. Pretty much any defensive pick in the first two rounds will help, but you're right... DT, CB, are the biggest areas of need. I also think they really need to address LB, especially since DJ is probably going to be suspended.

I saw 'draft expert' Jeff Legwold of the Post thinks Denver taking BSU's Doug Martin in the first round would be a great pick. I really like Martin, as I've gotted to watch him play every week. Very hard runner, but I don't know about the first round.

I am also glad the Asante Samuel talk has died down. I don't know why... I just don't feel good about that pick-up if they were to do it.

Brian Dawkins has retired from the NFL. Great player and role model for everybody.

Wesley Woodyard spoofs Brian Dawkins, several years ago (Dawkins blessed the video).

I like the trade down a lot. Nobody would have been worth it at 25. I wish they'd have taken Martin at 31, though.

                      Overall:

                      25th pick for 36th and 101st picks
                      Football: Denver Broncos
                      Baseball: Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs
                      Hockey: Allentown Phantoms
NCAA: The College of William and Mary Tribe

Broncos were going to take David DeCastro at the 25th overall pick per Mike Klis because of the Broncos lack of trust and belief in a select few linemen. Said I didn't like Beadles earlier, apparently the Broncos feel similar.

And so the dead time begins... 2-1/2 months.

Nobody has said much about the draft. I'll admit that they raised my eyebrows a couple of times, but I have faith that they know what they are doing. I wasn't surprised by the Osweiler pick, but in no way did I see them taking Wolfe. I guess I came away from the draft with a 'Hmm...' attitude. As always, time will tell.

I think it's funny listening to blow-hards like Kiper and McShay give Denver real low draft grades. Whatever. It's never a good idea to draft to solely to fill needs, but I was happy with the spots they filled. Elway said they stayed true to THEIR draft board, and right now that's good enough for me.

Brian Xanders was fired today. This doesn't shock me, really. I feel bad for the guy, sitting on a throne with no power. He wasn't needed at any point, now that Elway appears to be assuming more responsibility in personnel. Really, this just confirms that Xanders didn't have a roll.

10 most over-rated players in Broncos' history?

Overrated. It's one of our favorite terms to throw around in the realm of sports these days. " Tim Tebow is so overrated." "Joe Namath was so overrated." We have overrated lists on everything from quarterbacks to cheerleaders...

When I saw this link I immediate thought that the Ted Gregory better be on this list. Thank goodness that pick has been somewhat forgotten but in my opinion that pick has to go down as the worst in the history of professional football. I can't think of any other time where a first round pick was traded before training camp. Has there?
