I like Prater and even though he is struggling I think he will turn it around and be in Denver for awhile.

      Injury Updatehttp://myespn.go.com/blogs/afcwest/0...ry-update.html

Here is a Friday injury report on the Broncos, Chiefs and Chargers:

In Denver, star cornerback Champ Bailey will test his groin injury, which has kept him out of the past six games, Sunday prior to the Broncos' game at Carolina. He was limited in practice all week. He is listed as questionable on the injury report.

Weakside linebacker D.J. Williams appears to be on his way to playing after starting the past five games with a knee injury. He practiced fully all week and he is listed as probable. Receiver Brandon Stokley is questionable with a foot injury he suffered last week against Kansas City. If Stokley doesn't play, Darrell Jackson and Chad Jackson will get more playing time.
I would like to see Chad Jackson on the field a little more but give me Stokely as much as possible. Maybe C.Jackson can take on the slot role whenever Stokely rides off into the sunset.

I've got a bad feeling about Champ possibly coming back tomorrow and having to help with run support.

As I had stated earlier, I was excited about the signing of Chad Jackson. I feel he hasn't reached his full potential. He got caught in the numbers with New England. I remember in 06 he was the player that kept coming up in all the mock drafts but old Shanny came through with a little better pick The talent stockpile the Broncos have at the receiver position; man if it were so on the defense.

Woodyard is techncally playing strong safety. I guess it's more of a rover.

I don't even want to sound negative, that would be too easy right now, but I know that next week the Broncos will get it done...if they don't it won't the following(as I say under my breath as I am hitting the submit reply tab).

                    Weekly Injury Update

In Denver, starting offensive linemen Ryan Clady and Chris Kuper didn't practice Wednesday. The team is hopeful both players can play Sunday against visiting Buffalo. Denver can clinch the AFC West with a victory. Clady hurt his ankle at Carolina on Sunday and Kuper suffered a hand injury in the game.

Brandon Stokley, the team's No. 3 receiver, didn't practice because of a lingering foot injury. Star left cornerback Champ Bailey, who has missed the past seven games with a groin injury, continued to be limited. Denver coach Mike Shanahan said he is hopeful Bailey can play against Buffalo.
I dont even want to think about losing any of the guys up front.

So, my vote is giving Tatum the majority of the carries and let him pull himself out of the game when he wants- the guy is hungry, let him eat. Selvin Young needs to be in for pass protection but other than that, give me PJ imo.

Interesting forceast for Sunday, weather.com says 25º and accuweather.com has 7º

                      Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

After today's game, I dont think Selvin Young will be around or be above being the 3rd or 4th back. The one thing keeping him on the field is his blitz pick up and blocking help.

What was with the short, prevent kickoffs to the 25-30yd? I understand the threat but giving it to them on the 40 almost every time with this defense is not a good thing.

It may just be me or did Slowik yet again change his scheme midway in the game from putting up pressure with blitzes to man/zones. Our typical offense came out and did exactly what it's expected to do- red hot 1st drive and cool off to an ice cube from that point on.

                        Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

The already dinged-up backfield took two more hits as P.J. Pope (hamstring) and Selvin Young (neck) were added to the long list of injured tailbacks.

Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said both are expected to be placed on injured reserve. The team has lost seven tailbacks this season.
Luckily we have 10 draft picks, spend 1 on a back in the tailend of the draft?

The Fan today focused on defense but people keep trying to place all the blame on Cutler. Dre Bly got called out along with Prater and his lack of a leg in cold weather.

After many drinks last night, I decided its best for us to lose the bout against Chargers so we dont go down in the draft picks and we can start rehabbing everyone from this freakish injury season. Playoff experience would be nice to get but I can wait another year.

 . Only good to come out of a playoff birth would be the playing time for the young guys on offense, defense is worthless until we get talent via draft.

Interesting, Lepsis. Not really shocking though

There is a must-read story in the Colorado Springs Gazette on the intriguing tale of former Denver standout left tackle Matt Lepsis.

Lepsis admitted in the story that he had a daily drug habit last season. He told the paper he was "high" for the first six games of the 2007 season. He played in all six games. Yes, Lepsis admitted to being under the influence of recreational drugs during NFL games.

That is sure to get the attention of 280 Park Avenue.

The Lepsis tale is interesting and inspiring. He retired after the 2007 season and he is pursuing a life in the ministry.

But the underlying message here is that an NFL player was using drugs on the field. If one did, how many others did or still do? I've long heard rumors that veteran players aren't overly worried about the NFL drug testing program. Lepsis surely wasn't.

For players who are not already in the drug program, testing is rare and is usually conducted in the offseason. So, players may not be worried about using in the season.

Perhaps stories like this will cause the NFL to change its testing procedures.

52-21 loss, I would think Slowik is on his way out. But, with him out who do we replace him with? Name it and its wrong with the defense.
