As to the RB discussion, I think Johnson is the odd man out for sure.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Weber #2?!?!? I know you have a huge man-crush on him, but he's not even in consideration. Denver will be lucky to retain him on their practice squad.
I can see Hanie being cut and Denver going with just two QB's so they can free up another roster spot.
Moreno made a pretty strong case for his spot last night.Comment

I agree with you on Trevathon, and I think he will make the team. He has been all over the field this preseason. Again, good upside with him. Would like to see Trevathon anticipate better and "lay the wood" with his tackling.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I agree that Hanie should be cut. I can see KC picking him up off waivers as they seem to love Denver's slop QBs these days.
Adam Weber looked good, but it's not enough to put him ahead of Osweiler. Elway is banking on Osweiler to be the Broncos heir apparent to Manning. Therefore, Osweiler will be the #2 for the next 2-3 years. I agree that he needs to sit and learn, which he will. I don't see Manning getting hurt this season. The guy has been an ironman in the NFL for years now. His cervical fusion is solid. If he does get hurt, it won't be because of his neck surgery.
That being said, I think that Denver carries 2 QBs and places Weber on the practice squad.Last edited by TRC; 08-31-2012, 10:52 AM.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I guess we kinda skipped over my addendum to that topic. And teams DO cut risk picks that don't work out. Omar Boldin played zero football last year due to injury. There was no guarantee he'd be the same player. I recall a third round pick running back that was a risk who was cut early on during Shanahan's era.
And yes, Weber #2. Because frankly, Osweiler isn't ready, and Hanie hasn't shown that he's much better than Weber. The coaching staff is very high on Weber. I won't be surprised to see Weber retained as #3 and Hanie cut. Osweiler just isn't ready to start an NFL game or relieve. IMO, Weber carries more poise in the pocket, and is currently throwing a more accurate ball.
I just haven't been impressed with Osweiler, though I know he's more of a project. He isn't entering this season "NFL ready." Caleb Hanie, though a CSU product, hasn't been great.Last edited by Broncos86; 08-31-2012, 02:23 PM.Comment
