Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Yeah Jammer was bad. They will have to find someone else to step in or Jammer really needs to step up and play good.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Huff stepped in and played ok corner for the Raiders last year but hasn't looked very good this year from what we've seen.Jammer was pathetic but then again he shouldn't have been on as good of a young receiver as Allen. The Patriots have some mediocre young receivers that can run past him too, which is scary because Brady will get the ball there.
I really don't know why DRC wasn't assigned to Allen at that point because I would consider him easily their best receiver.Comment

I really don't know how Carter can be considered that inept after seeing poor play from most of the db's at a fairly consistent rate.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Amazingly,Tony Carter is healthy but deep in the doghouse since poor showings going way back to the Dallas game.Nobody wants Jammer to see the field again but so far there's probably a little more support for Webster to see more playing time with the possibility of Champ seeing more outside than in the slot. That's if he can physically handle that.

But what do I know....Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I have no idea what they are going to do with Harris out. It scares the hell out me thinking about what Brady could do to this secondary. You could put Webster and Jammer in the secondary and let them play with 12 and I'd still be uneasy.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I know Jonsco got on me a bit for worrying about the wind too much (rightfully so) but I think it would be hard to argue that it didn't change their gameplan a little bit.
A lot of underneath and short routes resulted in J Thomas having a big game and they really didn't go vertical at all.
This Sunday's early forecast is 58 degrees and little wind (it's Colorado so we all know how drastically that can change from now to then) but if that holds true I expect the Broncos to open it up quite a bit more than they did against the Chargers.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
So long as the Broncos don't fall behind, I'm expecting a little more of the same playstyle that we saw vs the Chargers. I think we can expect more running and less outright passing. For me, the reason has less to do with our offense and more to do with the Patriot's offense.
We'll be without Chris Harris, and Bill Belichick is known for exploiting key match ups. As much as the Patriot's offense has morphed into more of a power running game, I fully expect the Patriots to try to exploit our secondary and cash in on whoever replaces Harris. Considering how poorly Jammer played last week, I'm a smidgen concerned for our secondary.
So with that in mind, I think ball control and controlling the clock will be key for us. Control the ball, keep Brady off the field, and allow our defense to rest. With the style that Tom Brady can play, with the hurry-up, it will be essential that we don't get into a scoring race vs. the Patriots. We'll need to keep the ball in our hands a bit longer.Comment
