This part of the article stood out to me the most

At the initial hearing of the news, wasn't a fan or more of just a skeptic. If his hip or whatever ailment isn't an issue, I'm fine. I got tired of the corners playing 10 yards off instead of stepping up on the line and going hands on.

A stat that I do like from Talib, he gets interceptions.

Oh and I think that DRC was little "off". His retirement stuff could have raised concerns to the Broncos and also his negative post-Super Bowl comments stood out to me the most.

Been away from this thread since my last post but looking at the contract structure now I am not all that annoyed with it. Looks like the Broncos have a little leverage after 3 years that I didn't initially see. So I am not that upset about it, just hope he can be productive and not a problem in the locker room.

Just read that the NFL is looking into the Gase/Manning/Saban meeting as it supposedly violates the new CBA rule prohibiting players and coaches from meeting prior to the off season programs.

Honestly they are punishing hardworking players who want to get better. What a joke. That has to be the stupidest rule I have ever seen. Players trying to improve get punished and the lazy one that want to stay home and do nothing don't.

This rule, though, has NFLPA written all over it. I'm certain the players union came up with it to keep the players from being overworked. What does the NFL care if players and coaches talk chalk in the offseason? They're just trying to enforce a rule the players themselves came up with.

My issue is if certain players want to work year around and work with their coaches they should be able to.

I guess the NFLPA created this rule to keep it equal for hardworking players and the lazy players who only care about football for 4 months out of the year.

I did read earlier it sounds like Manning and Gase met separately with Saban. So if that's the case it shouldn't be an issue.

Schedule is pretty brutal. Week 4 bye, and 5 of the last 8 games are on the road.

I haven't come by here since the Super Bowl. Looks like most of us were pretty dejected about it, seeing the utter lack of activity in this thread.

I used the Avs to dry my tears and well...you know how that ended.

Yea that only helped so much, but the Avs playoff demise did start to take that nasty taste out of my mouth from the Super Bowl, but that one is going to take a while to get over.

The Avs' playoff failure wasn't quite so bad. Very young team, and I could feel the momentum building. But inexperience did us in, during the playoffs. But we were never "the team" that everyone was watching out for. We were a bit of a dark horse, and simply making the playoffs was an accomplishment. We also sorely missed a healthy Duchene.

The Broncos, on the other hand, were already being handed the Lombardi trophy before the Seahawks said otherwise. It hurts so much more.

It's like being a St. Louis Blues fan.

I'm hyped and charged for the upcoming season. New guys to help on both sides of the ball. I am disappointed hearing Brock still looks like crap in OTA's. This is his 3rd season. Your playing behind the best to ever do it. Put in that work. 74 days from now we will be ready. I promise you that. Welcome back the Orange Crush! Go Broncos

I really hope the city of Denver chills out a little bit this year. I
Yeah, I am sure we will win at least 11 games and and put up all sorts of great individual performances all around.

                        That's cool. That's great.

                        43-8

                        That's all I'm saying.

                        43-8

I'm sure it will still happen, but I just really hope I stop hearing people call us the best team until we are, in fact, the best team, which is only done by holding the Lombardi Trophy.

I'm sorry, I just felt the hype train was a little over the top last season. Let's stay humble, stay hungry, and keep our eyes on the prize. The prize isn't Manning throwing for 80000000000 yards. The prize is a Championship. Period. Nothing less. It's just a 16 game pre-season until we can really accomplish anything.

I agree with everything but the last sentence. The first 16 games aren't just a preseason. We still have to earn our way into the playoffs. So I can't say it's just preseason. Nothing is guaranteed.

But I 100% agree it's not about individual performances it's about a Championship. But honestly I believe Peyton knows that, it's the media that makes the big deal about individual performances.

                            Man, it's quiet in here.

I haven't posted in here since the SB. I just couldn't, or probably more that I just didn't feel like it. That loss stung more than any other SB loss. It wasn't so much that they lost, it was that they were absolutely embarrassed and it felt almost like they were exposed - made out to be frauds. I hated that.

I think deep down, we all knew they were soft. I just didn't realize the magnitude of softness....on both sides of the ball. So much has been put into 'we have to make the defense tougher', but what I saw in the SB was just as much on the offense. They got punched in the mouth and they had no response.

                            It was tough to watch.

So here we are. Camp has opened and it's the start of a new year with all of the same goals with one slight twist. It's not 'SB or bust', it's 'win the SB or bust'. As corny as it sounds, maybe it's about time to win one for Pat.

My football juices are starting to flow again after a long off-season.

                            Go Broncos!

The loss to Washington was more heartbreaking to me because of how that one started versus how it ended.

This one was easier to swallow because there was never any hope at all.
