    Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

John Fox says a win is a win, blah, blah, blah.... He's sounds completely satisfied because they won. I'm not impressed. They barely got by a battered Chiefs team at home.

This team has a lot of talent, yet they STILL have no idea how to play a complete game and close teams out. This team continues to lack focus, discipline, and a killer instinct. No lead is safe.

First series of the second half: Denver has KC in a 3rd and 18 from their own 12. What do they do? They rush 3. Yeah, that always works. I thought this defensive was supposed to thrive on getting teams into passing situations and then get after the quarterback. This rushing 3 BS needs to stop. It seldom, if ever, works. Put pressure on the quarterback and force a quick decision. Denver plays 'gentlemen' defense and they still don't have that bit of nasty that they desperately need. Try ending the game in the third quarter instead of the last drive.

I know this is only week 2, but this bothers me because I am seeing a lot of the same traits that were prevalent in last year's team. The only thing that I can attribute it to is coaching. Perhaps it's just frustrating because I know the window is closing with Peyton.

Next week they are going to get a pissed off Seattle team and they are going to have to play them in the most difficult of places. I hope I am wrong, but I think this team is going to get punched in the mouth next week.

Perhaps that's exactly what they need.

Not keen on this 2nd half decline. It's the same story as last year: we can't play 60 minutes. And the issue I have is that it seems to be solely about the players. Dropped passes, blown assignments, bad penalties etc. The plays aren't changing, and the opportunities are there. It's simply a matter of players understanding that they can't put it in cruise control in the second half. A better team would've beaten us. Thankfully, the Chiefs are still the Chiefs. And even then, they almost did it without some of their big starters.

That being said, it's early in the season. And personally, I like CJ Anderson more than Montee Ball right now.

I agree on Anderson. What's funny and plays right into this....he averaged over six yards a carry in the first half, and they didn't give him the ball once in the second half. Not once.

I am very interested to see what happens this weekend.

That was disappointing, but I like what this team showed at the end. Heart and a lot of fight.

Hopefully they take something from this. If it bleeds, they can kill it.

It was a good loss, it hurts but I think they showed a lot.

I'm done with Ball though. Time for Anderson to be the number one and spell him with Hillman. And not because of the fumble.

I know we all feel this loss but I am honestly pretty fired right now.

I pray we make it to the bowl and get another shot at Seattle.

Our team is much more physical and much tougher this year. Keep your heads up fellas, we got this.

I normally don't ever buy into the 'good loss' stuff, but if there ever was one, it was yesterday.

I almost think this ended in the best way for Denver moving forward. This loss should leave a foul taste in their mouths and keep them hungry.

                    Wow.

It happened a few hours ago and I'm still in shock.

                    I don't get it.

Feels like what the Chiefs did, hope it works out better for you than it did us.

                        I just don't get it.

Can't be a money move and I'm not sure I need more than one hand to count how many kicks he's missed in the last 4 years.

There HAS to be more to this than what we've been told.

                          I'm stunned.Why?????

Prater is certainly in the top handful of kickers in the league for one that didn't do anything to inspire THAT much confidence in.

I think he is unquestionably number one of current kickers right now.

Absolutely stupid move looking at it from the outside…he won't be a FA for long, that's for sure.

There is definitely something else to this. My guess is that is has to do with his mental state, not just the alcohol related incidents. He looked off to me in the preseason, even before word was released that he was going to be suspended.

It just sucks. That guy was money. McManus has just as big of leg (if not bigger), but I'd take accuracy first any day. Prater had both.
