Our worst d-line pick in recent memory has to be trading up for jarvis moss in 07, who played in seven games last year and was just a filled roster spot. I don't know why he's still on the roster.

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Per Rotoworld
NFL Network's Mike Lombardi believes Brady Quinn will get a chance to compete for the starting job in Denver.
This caught our attention because Lombardi has spent a lot of time with Josh McDaniels recently and usually has an inside track on all things Broncos. McD has said Orton is the starter, which we don't doubt. But it wouldn't shock us to see Quinn have a chance to pass him, especially if Denver starts slow.
And about Clady, per Footballoutsiders
In fact, there's only one player I can find who didn't miss the entire year with their torn patellar tendon. Perhaps the closest comparison to Clady is Seahawks center Robbie Tobeck, who tore his patella tendon in May of 2000. Tobeck went on the Physically Unable to Perform list to start the season, and only managed to play in four games, none as a starter. LeCharles Bentley of the Browns, another center, tore his patella in July of 2006 and was immediately placed on injured reserve. He never played again, although that had much more to do with staph eating his knee than the initial injury.
Every other player I've found with a torn patella went on IR or missed more than six months. In fact, every other instance of a player appearing on the injury list (besides those on injured reserve) with a torn patella is an example of a player being listed with that injury from the previous season. Several players were expected to come back from the injury, were placed on the PUP list or were inactive to start the season, and then ended up on IR -- Germane Crowell in 2001 and Gary Baxter in 2007 are examples. Nate Webster came off of PUP in 2005 but was never healthy enough to make the active roster.Aaron

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Denver Post article "Bounty of Cutler Deal"
It took two drafts and another week of intense concentration to follow the Broncos' bouncing draft picks, but the results are in on the Jay Cutler trade.
Here's what the Broncos got: starting quarterback Kyle Orton, starting outside linebacker Robert Ayers, first-round receiver Demaryius Thomas, third-round receiver Eric Decker, one-half of tight end Richard Quinn (Bears' draft pick plus one more to get him) and one-third of quarterback Tim Tebow (draft pick plus two more).
The haul is stunning.
On paper, the Broncos have a chance to make this the NFL's most significant blockbuster trade since 1989, when Jimmy Johnson used Herschel Walker to resurrect the Dallas Cowboys' franchise.
Now all the Broncos need is for their acquired players to make the ever-difficult transfer from looking good on paper to becoming productive on the field.
If Ayers and Quinn can rebound from disappointing rookie seasons, if Thomas and Decker can recover from their injured feet, if Tebow can become all that, then Orton may go from the early centerpiece of the deal to an afterthought.
Keep in mind the only player who has made the Pro Bowl since the trade was an afterthought. In return for the Broncos' haul, the Bears got Cutler and a fifth-round pick that turned out to be receiver Johnny Knox.
Knox was named to the NFC Pro Bowl team last season as a returner.
"I was aware I was part of the trade, but I didn't know any of the specifics," Knox said at the Pro Bowl in Miami. "All I know, I was hoping to get drafted and was glad I did."
Ed McCaffrey was touched. Decker tweeted last week he was taking No. 87 in part to pay homage to the former Broncos receiver: "Ed McCaffrey wore the number loud and proud and I feel the obligation to do the same!"
This weekend, McCaffrey delivered an autograph and jersey to Decker with a note of thanks and encouragement.Last edited by av7; 05-02-2010, 02:15 AM.Aaron

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Brandstater will be out of here soon, 4th QB now on the depth chart.
From some of the Denver Post articles, sounds like Moreno adjusted his running style in the camps so far and looks alot better. Wonder if Westbrook has been talking to Dawkins at all and if he'll end up on the team.
Alphonso Smith is getting hyped again, I'll believe it when I see it.Aaron

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Where did you hear that? That would be dumb given the situation.
I read something the other day where he said he still plans to carry only two on the active game day roster but didn't see him saying he was going to cut one, I hope that doesn't happen.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Dumervil needs his contract and I sure hope Bailey comes back on a realistic contract. I think in the DP article had Bailey saying he's planning on atleast 5 more years of playing? The secondary cant afford to lose him.
I wandered onto ESPN and noticed they actually have "Tebow tracker"... wow...Aaron
