He doesn't deserve 6 mil. He doesn't have the resume that Carroll does, but I believe the head coach is the 2nd most important job on the field in football, behind QB. I also believe Harbaugh is the best candidate out there (not going to include Cowher). I would hate for the Broncos to pass on him because of the money. Then have a team like the Niners or Dolphins bite the bullet and pay him around 5 or so a year and then have success.

All I want is for Harbaugh to at least get an interview.

        2nd round pick + a 5th or 6th round is what I'd like.

Not sure if they'd give up multiple picks for him considering his ankles. I dont see Orton fitting Arizona. Minnesota would make sense if they go back to focusing on Peterson as the offense's centerpiece. 49ers is another possibility depending if the new staff uses Gore as their centerpiece.

I'd like Orton to go somewhere he can stay long term and succeed.

Me too, I really like Orton (he had been a class act) and think he got a raw deal in Denver with the way things turned out.

I wish him nothing but the best but think it is a foregone comeclusion that he is gone whether or not I agree with it...

I definitely wish he could stay but atleast we dont know if he'll even be traded since the team hasn't signed a HC yet. Its still a possibility someone coming in would like Orton for the system thats going to be implemented while Tebow can continue learning and progressing in practice. The team needs to cut Quinn ASAP, he's just as bad as Simms was and they need to bring in an older vet if the Orton deal happens so Tebow can get some mentoring.

I wonder why anyone gets knocked on for struggling in Buffalo. Both Mularkey and Williams seem to get tagged with "but they struggled in Buffalo" tag, maybe Broncos are now at that level. If they get asked "What would you fix first?" and they dont start with D and end with fense, I'm not interested.

The oline can get shuffled around, plug in a vet free agent if needed to take over LG/C (Beadle, he needs to work on his strength as he gets worked almost every play) for a year or two in order to allow the team to draft bigger needs. I keep flipping back and forth from 4-3 to 3-4 but I suppose it really doesn't matter now. I did read an interesting article (can't remember where) that put out the idea that DJ Williams could be sacrificed for some more draft picks in order for the new regime to build a sound foundation.

I'm wondering where LenDale White fits/doesnt fit come the new hire. He got hurt so fast that there was no real way to see if he was a valuable redzone guy.

Enough rambling for the night, thats just been floating around my head all day with the scenarios.

I'm still waiting for Rivera from the Chargers to get an interview, bit surprised no one has stepped up for him yet.

              Mike Nolan, same thing really.

Theres a rumor floating about Tebow. McDaniels goes to Vikings, Tebow gets dealt to the Vikings, Orton stays. Its from Peter King, he comes off very Mortensen-like though so I just dismiss it

The "search" isn't making sense to me. How Harbaugh didn't get a longer look is beyond me. Rivera looks bound for Carolina and the Broncs are looking at Fox?? Seems *** backwards.

                    Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

Harbaugh was an easy decision, he wanted too much money.

As for Rivera, I would've liked him to come in. He's familiar with the AFC West and he's put together some good defenses.

I do not want Fox or Gregg Williams.

Alot of media are giving the Broncos a bunch of crap for their candidates. I'm not exactly sure who else is out there for them to interview to be removed from the crap category.

Mularkey at this point seems to be my favorite...thats not saying much.

Yea, I'm not thrilled with the choices as of yet.

What's with Elway and all of his tweets that I see mentioned everywhere. It is getting annoying.

Dennison is very intriguing to me the more I think about it. Resume for offense yet he's a former linebacker in the NFL for the Broncos. He's familiar with the organization and Denver. Maybe he'll be the reason for Moreno to thrive in the old Bronco system instead of being relied on like a LenDale White for power.

Now, who would he bring in to coach the defense while he fixes the line to get back to zone-blocking as he said he would like to do if he were to come back?

The coach interviews from the airport, to the facility and around inside the facility is up on the Broncos main site.

Mile High Report has numbers on John Fox's career:
From 2002-2010 (averaged rankings), his offense is 21st in yards, 12th in points. His defense has been 11th in yards and 11th in point.

Now Fox can point to the Panther's unwillingness to really help the team out by any spending (crappy FO), or Fox can just be a mediocre coach. I get the feeling he is in the lead to become the new coach.

+Interesting. Denver Post article said to expect the Broncos to hire a new HC within a week.

So John Fox is the guy. Comes from the defense side of the ball, something we all wanted the organization to finally try after Shanahan was canned. He says the defense needs more help than the offense but I'll believe he wants to fix it when I see it.

Atleast Schefter can pronounce Fox. Got tired of hearing him say "McDangles"

Reading article comments about the hire is summed up to: ALL IS LOST!!!@!!! ALL IS LOST@$!!!!

Curious to see if this means Tebow gets moved for defensive help and he stays with Orton. If McDaniels goes to Minny I could definitely see them come knocking about him...

Fox was positive about Tebow and Tebow will likely have McCoy return for the OC position, so he has that going for him.

Tebow should fit in Fox's offense a lot better than what McDaniels installed in his time here.

Orton will give the Broncos either a better pick or more low-tier picks than Tebow would.

Jim Mora Jr. is in the running to be the DC for the Broncos. 4-3 switch probably going to happen which is fine, just get young talent in.
