I personally only watch maybe 1 or 2 skins games the last few years and i was wondering Although Mcnab is an upgrade was campbell really that bad?or was it mor of the changing coaches every two years?was a 4th rounder not enough or too much in the Redskins fan opinions?

Campbell was fine, he just needed an ideal situation to be successful. Part of that surely had to do with learning a new offense every other year, part from being young, part from never really being in a system that fit his strengths and part from the oline not being good. Zorn's first year Campbell didn't have a turnover for half a season, then a couple of linemen went down and that was that. The biggest difference is McNabb feels pressure better, doesn't get nervous and won't turn the ball over even if he does get touched. The Raiders offense better fits Campbell's strengths too. If Campbell is decent, this year we should see him take a step forward... even on a new team.
I'm pretty sure it was a 2nd rounder but yes, it was worth it. The guy is in the same age range as Brady and Manning. It's not like he's got a foot out the door. He's also been to what, 5 straight NFC championships with a SB in there? I don't knock the Eagles for their decision, but the Skins didn't have a Kolb waiting, and even if they did, they didn't have a McNabb or stable philosophy to help get him ready. It was the right move.Comment

BTW, it's Mcnabb (two b's)... small thing but you've written his name a bunch so figured I'd let you know.

Re: Washington Redskins Official Thread
my take on campbell, nice player, can't be an integral part of a championship. he could be on a championship caliber team, if it were the 2000 ravens or something, but to expect him to be a BIG part of it, no. he is a great guy, great team guy, but he is not a leader. he also has some fatal flaws for a qb, holds the ball too long and dumps the ball down to the rb's way too often. he has looked exactly the same in oakland so far as he did in washington. not necessarily a bad thing, just don't expect him to get fired up and win a game for you. a fourth round pick for what he is isn't too bad a deal, but he was a first rounder they traded up for, looking at it that way the 'skins got raped...Comment

Gotcha... yes, that's a fair price for Campbell. He has potential to be better and shouldn't be expected to do much worse.Comment

Re: Washington Redskins Official Thread
I guess some of that Rex Ryan is rubbing off on Harbaugh I see:
Harbaugh also threw a minor dig at the team located the closest, geographically, to the Ravens. Regarding the recent preseason game against the Redskins, Harbaugh said, "We kinda ran over that team, and we're kinda proud of that, that's the way we ought to play."
Then, after the crowd cheered a little, Harbaugh said, "Yeah, that's right. That's what it was."#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Washington Redskins Official Thread
prolly fast willie, would give him a chance to catch on somewhere else. man, i think james davis, rb from cleveland might get cut. i'd like the 'skins to maybe pick him up. he was great in college and looked real good last pre season before getting hurt. now he seems to be caught in a numbers game. lots of ability and still only 23 years old. as it is i think there will be 4 or 5 guys on the opening night roster that are not on the team right now, but we'll just have to wait and see...Comment
