Yeah, Torain gets hurt to much...now I see why we bought in all those RB's...I can't wait until next Saturday..hopefully I can find a stream that show preseason games..since I live in KC

sorry. should have posted in the nfl thread, since according to most "experts" it is the eagles trophy to lose and every other team may as well stay home, not just the 'skins. i was just being sarcastic man, relax! you can talk about the eagles in the redskins thread because they are a division rival? no? i actually am not worried about playing them either. no matter who they sign i don't see them beating the 'skins the way they did last year. as for skins discussion, torain showed today why hightower was picked up in a trade. he just cannot stay healthy...

lol, relax!!! This is about the time I'd buy you a shot. All I was trying to do was get this thing back on track... talking about the Skins rather than complaining about how good the Eagles look. I actually don't have a problem with you talking about the Eagles but they're just another team. And this year they aren't even really in competition with the Skins. Let them do their thing.

Sorry if I came off as attacking you man... definitely wasn't my intent. I'm just sick of hearing about the Eagles EVERYWHERE. I don't even remember the Pats team that went 16-0 getting this much convo before the season (and they brought in some big names that year too).

The talking heads on ESPN and The NFL Network don't give it much credit, but the Redskins could possibly have one of the better defenses in the league..

That Safety Combo of Atogwe and Landry should be amazing.. I'm really excited about it and can't wait to watch them work. Our corners aren't the best in the league, but we have a decent secondary. Hall is becoming more consistent and is well respected as one of the better man coverage corners in the league. I love the Josh Wilson pickup and I'm glad we kept Phil Buchanan.. Wish we could've kept 'Los too.. He catches a lot of heat for dropping interceptions, but he was a pretty damn good cover corner.. He might not have snatched a lot of INTs, but he wasn't allowing a lot catches either.. He would've been great at Nickel Back... Hard to believe a WR who's 3rd on his team's depth chart is going to much against 'Los

Our linebacker corps looks very promising. Even at this age, London Fletcher is one of the better MLBs in the league.. Great leader and a high volume tackler. Orakpo is only getting better.. He's a great pass rusher and is getting better in coverage too.. I'm loving all the Kerrigan videos I've seen as well as everything I've heard about the kid.. You throw Tatupa in with this group, and we'll actually finally have the personnel to really excel at the 3-4; or any defense for that matter...

I am a little worried about our line though..Definitely the weakest part of the Defense..

I think that we will have an improved defense no doubt but when you were 31st it's not to hard to be better. I think that we still need some true 3-4 LB's going forward. I love Fletcher but he is undersized, I don't know if Lofa will fit in the 3-4 but he is a good young MLB that fills a need. I think the DL will be the key,(like you) they were at times last year down right horrible.

You are right though the talking heads have pretty much written of the skins and I can't blame them. Even if our defense is really, really good. The offense is a work in progress. We have unknowns at QB, RB, WR, and along the Oline, so while our defense could limit teams to 17 points per game, there in no guarantee that we will score more than that.

Scoring is definitely going to be a problem, as the offense will be a work in progress for a while.. Luckily, they'll have the luxury of a defense that should be able to keep them in games...

Has anyone heard anything good about John Beck yet? The few reports I've read have him consistently under and overthrowing his receivers.. Apparently he's saying all the right things, but that means **** if he can't produce on the field.. I know he'll be competing with Rex, but I just can't get comfortable with saying "Rex Grossman is my quarterback." There has to be something there with Beck.. Shanahan is definitely a little overrated as a coach, receiving too much credit for Dan Reeves work- but he's still a good coach nonetheless. It's hard to believe that he'd stick his neck out there like he has for Beck unless the kid can play..

I hope not.. I'd much rather either Beck surprises the **** outta everyone this year and plays well or we end up signing/trading for a proven QB that Shanahan won't throw under the bus when the team takes a few Ls.. We've been through this same process of trying to find our franchise QB for too many years under too many coaches.. For all that has happened, we could've just kept Jason Campbell( Who I was a fan of) and upgraded our O-Line( Which we still need to do).. I don't want to go through this again with Luck or any other rookie coming out next year.. If there's one thing the offense in Washington needs, it's some consistency...
