When's the last time Shanahan paid for a RB?

Not talking about on the cheap either.

We just grabbed Tim Hightower from Arizona for a conditional late-round pick and Vonnie Holliday(thought we cut him already)

Nice addition puts Keiland Williams on notice. I see Hightower as a proven 3rd down back.

not saying it will happen to philly, they will probably win the SB. they are signing these guys that already have some age on them. to take a walk down memory lane, check this link...

Back in 2000 I told redskin fans it wouldn't work, but, of course none would listen to me. They signed big names but look where they signed them. Bring in Dieon when you still have the one of the greatest skins at corner, still productive. You also cut Mitchell so Deion can return punts.

For the most part, they just padded positions where they were already strong, without addressing needs and hating onl players skins fans loved. Bruce Smith was a position of need but everybody knew he was just playing for the record at that point. I thought they got worse with those moves before that season even started.

The Eagles are addressing needs. But I don't see any reason to really care... especially in this thread. The Skins aren't playing for the SB this year either way. This is a year to watch how the team molds and how the young guys progress (how it should've been last year but they screwed that all up), and mostly just be an NFL fan without having to have everything tied into your team. It sucks when you're in that position, but it happens. Anyway, 2012 is another season with guys a year older, and contracts a year older. The Eagles may or may not win this year, but things could look drastically different next year either way.

With this Hightower signing, I'dl be surprised if Royster and Droughs make the final roster.. I see them as early-to-mid preseason cuts, possibly sticking around on the practice squad if no other team picks them up on waivers. I am expecting great things out of Helu though. I see him being a Redskin for a long time..

Edit: I'm a little skeptical about the position changes Shanahan is trying out. Keiland Williams, unless he put on twenty or so pounds in the offseason, is kind of small to be a FB.. He's like 220-230 isn't he?

I do like possibly moving Sellers to TE though. He's been talking about wanting to be more involved in the offense for a while now and he definitely has the hands to be our #2 TE.. Should be interesting...

yeah i more posted it for the people thinking the eagles have the sb wrapped up in early august. i KNOW the skins would be lucky to play .500 ball this year. just reiterating the "champs on paper" theme from season's past. signing top named free agents (on the wrong side of 30 btw) buys you nothing on the field...

Ugh, why? I saw nothing last year that said "fullback" in Williams to me last year.

If we keep 3 RB I see it as Torain and everyone else battling for spots. We need a Hr hitter and a 3rd down guy. So I think that is Hightower and Helu with Royster as a practice squad player who sees the field this year.

I tend to agree, I may be blinded by my love of the skins, but I think Fred Davis can be a good TE in the NFL. Is this a way of making him earn his spot? Then okay, but if he is gonna take chances away from Davis then I question the move.

So, even though I really, really don't like him I just bought a game worn Kareem Moore jersey. Only cost me $130.05 with shipping, but I really think the guy misses way to many tackles.

So my collection is now a LaRon Landry Game worn on 12-12-10, a Fred Davis game worn on 9-28-08, and this Kareem Moore from the 2008 season. Not sure which game yet. I have a serious addiction. HTTR!

What's the deal with James Davis? I felt like he was in a similar situation in Cleveland as Torrain in Denver... I was expecting him to possibly have his breakout this year, if there was one to be had, but haven't heard anyone mention him at all. Is everyone just forgetting about him or is he gone?

He is still on the roster. Someone mentioned he runs "soft" so Shanny isn't a fan. I thought he was gonna be the Hr hitter at RB. Team still needs one of those.
