Oh well, you guys just signed our former defensive end Stephen bowen to a 5 year, 27.5 million contract. Enjoy!

what do you guys think of today's signings? wwharton, what is your take on chris chester? i like the bowen signing and the release of rabach made me happy too. still think they should give braylon edwards a look see, but if they don't it is no big deal with the amount of at least decent wr's on the roster currently. any good rumors out there right now?

I like the defense signings. The offense is wait and see for me.

                Re: Washington Redskins Official Thread

Generally happy with the moves we've made so far::

Love the Josh Wilson pickup. Wish we could've kept Rogers as well though. Rogers would be a beast as a 3rd CB

                Happy with the Coffield pickup

Content with the Bowen acquisition, although we definitely overpaid.. He was guaranteed a starting spot in Dallas and I'm assuming this takes us out of the Cullen Jenkins sweepstakes

Really like the Jabar Gaffney pickup too... Haven't seen the #'s on the deal, but he's still relatively young and can definitely still play. He's definitely no #1 receiver, but I think he'll put up decent #s with us..

Love that the Stokely deal fell through and I'm still pretty unhappy with the Donte' Stallworth pickup..

We had a great draft.. Kerrigan should be fine in transitioning to LB and will be a beast coming off the edge.. Love his heart and his motor...

Hankerson, when it's all said and done, may be the best receiver of the draft.. I loved him his last year and a 1/2 at the U.. He'll definitely ease into the #1 spot.. Helu was a nice pickup and gives us some much needed depth in the backfield..

Lots of good players still available.. I hope we continue to add players to the D-line and and make a few additions to the Oline as well.. Even with the Coffield and Bowen pickups, I think we should still go after Cullen Jenkins..

I've come to terms with the fact that we're moving forward with Beck.. He has my unwavering support for the first six-eight weeks. That's more than enough time to see if he's worth a ****.. Hopefully Shannahan knows what he's doing

I've out-grown the off-season champs stuff. So I will withhold judgement until I see the 53 man. Not all these WRs are gonna be on the roster. I think they did a good job addressing holes in the roster and adding depth though.

Big shoes to fill, CP was a gamer all day everyday, that he was healthy...Nick Barnett I think he fills a huge need. We can get rid of HB Blades and/or Rocky. I've been researching him every since he rumors of his release. He can play beside and eventually replace Fletcher. Should he stay healthy.

I think that Riley could be a player. I know he made some contributions on special teams last year (along with having 2 Brandon Banks TD's called back) But I haven't seen or heard enough about Henson.

damn, beat me to it. we are always on the same page! i was just gonna suggest barnett. he isn't young (i think 30 or so) but he would fit nicely next to fletcher at least for this season until henson and someone else are ready to take over. he is more of a 4-3 mlb, but so was london and he had a good season last year (all things considered, i.e. no d line to keep offensive linemen off his ***)...

I had forgotten about Chester but he's a great pick up. He's very athletic and can play guard and (most important imo) can also play center. He needs to be a little more consistent but he's still young so that's probably natural at this point. I don't know how much they paid for him but considering the need, he's a good pick up.

It'd be nice if they could still grab Edwards at a decent price. There are actually a lot of WRs still worth looking at, which is why the ones they rushed to get kind of raised an eyebrow, but when the smoke clears they could still get that semi-big name and cut their losses with some and look ok.
