I think that depending on what they do in FA. Rex might have his last best chance to be a starter here this year. There are two good QBs in next years draft IMO. Luck and Matt Barkley. I would love the skins to get Matt Barkley. Love it.

If they bring Young in they'd be stupid to keep Grossman. With all the hyping up of Beck, and now saying he didn't get more time bc he was learning the playbook, I don't see the logic in keeping him as the #3. And of course, it'd make no sense to resign Grossman to be the #3 either.

I wouldn't be upset if Grossman left.

I'm hearing a lot of chatter about Grossman possibly going to Arizona.

If that goes down, and Rex goes there to start, it only further explains why the Cardinals are the Cardinals.

You mean at QB? I think yes, but it'll either be Beck and Grossman or Beck and whoever else they bring in. I don't see them getting rid of Beck and I don't see them keeping Grossman if they bring in somebody else.

Trade? I would love to see the Skins find a way to land Palmer or Chad (not both though).

Carson Palmer hasn't been the same since he hurt his knee.

Chad would be another typical "Redskins acquisition", and not in a good way. An aging player who had success with his former team but whose skills are declining. I'll pass.

Carson Palmer also wouldn't cost a 2nd round pick or something crazy. You're not asking him to be the franchise QB. He's a very good vet. It's not like the Skins are sniffing the SB next year.

As for Chad, somewhat same story but he's got more life left. Chad knows how to play WR on the field and in the off season. He'd have A LOT to teach the young WRs on the team and definitely has some life left.

Do you really think the Bengals are going to just give Carson Palmer an unconditional release? Anything more than a 6th rounder is too much to give up for a player like him at this stage of his career. We're not talking about Kurt Warner, we're talking about a player who hasn't really done all that much aside from put up some gaudy numbers one season.

After the McNabb debacle, I don't want to see any more "vets" being brought in via trade. No more Larry Johnson, Willie Parker, et cetera. I know a lot of fans in the DMV are allergic to the word "rebuilding", but that's precisely what we have to start doing.

Since you named them specifically, what was wrong with bringing those guys in off the streets cheep and having a look at them? What did we pay them $2,000 a week during training camp plus what ever signing bonus' they got? Had one or both of them shown they had anything left. The skins would've had a game breaker at RB. Torain for all the good he did lasy year was SLOW in the open field. He doesn't have an extra gear at all. Williams is a 3rd down back at best, and his pass blocking needs help. The redskins were smart to bring both those guys in for a look. No harm no foul.

It was a bang for buck situation with those two.

The Skins have two players they should try to get something for in Haynesworth and McNabb. Both are players I could see Cincy being interested in. Acquiring either Palmer or Chad wouldn't have to require any draft picks.

And getting Palmer wouldn't change the idea of rebuilding. Hell they should've told the world they were rebuilding last year. Would've put a completely different tone on things even if the season played out exactly the way it did.
