Re: Official New York Jets Thread
Just read that the Jets are looking into Verner. I would love for them to release Cromartie and make a run at getting Verner. He is 25 athletic and a probowl cornerback. It would be interesting if they could add Verner and Byrd to our defensive backfield. Although it appears as though Byrd is going elsewhere. As far as a TE I'd like to see them make a run at Finley or Pettigrew and get one of those guys on a 1 year show us the production type contract. The same would go for Nicks. We will get talent in this draft no doubt and with almost 12 picks we should be able to bolster the Oline, WRs, TEs and hopefully a safety and LB. This offseason is where Idzik will show us what he is made of. I would rather see the Build through the draft and be prudent in FA approach then have Idzik spend big in FA and strike out with poor contracts for aging players log past their prime.PS3 gamer Tag: Jeff82775Comment

Re: Official New York Jets Thread
We need a replacement for Goodson and I'm sure we'll use a late round pick for a RB.
Looks like that Revis pick may stay a 4th rounder and become a 3rd if he's released/traded by Thursday.
A team would be crazy to trade for him when they could force TB into releasing him and sign him for significantly less than $16M.
Revis needs to be shopping for a new agent.Comment

Re: Official New York Jets Thread
The whole Revis and Bucs situation was so dumb for both sides. After all the contract nonsense Revis essentially signed a 1 year deal, and the Bucs paid him a huge salary, gave up multiple picks, and didn't even use him correctly. Great trade for us even with the 3rd turning to a 4th.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Austin Howard leaving would be a huge blow.

Re: Official New York Jets Thread
Revis got cut by the Bucs today and said he would "love" to return to the Jets.
The bad news is that the Jets seem destined to lose the 2014 third-round pick they presumed they'd get from the Bucs for the 2013 trade of Darrelle Revis.
For the right price, I'm all for it. Just stay as far away from 16M as possible, and DONT let the Patriots sign him. Especially after Talib leaving for Denver. You Look Good, You Feel Good. You Feel Good, You Play Good. You Play Good, They Pay Good. - Deion Sanders

Re: Official New York Jets Thread
Hard to see Revis coming back after how everything went down, and with so many teams with cap space I can't imagine we'll be able to get him for a reasonable price. If we somehow can pull it off though I'd love to have him back.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Official New York Jets Thread
I honestly believe that bridge is burned.
I don't see him back here.
I have no idea what we're going to do at CB.
I like Captain Munnerlyn but he's kind of on the short side. Milliner is not ready to take on being a #1 CB so soon.
Possibly Decker & James Jones. As long as we don't overpay either I wouldn't be mad. I liked Golden Tate but he went to Detroit.Comment
