    Re: Official Seattle Seahawks Thread

Tatupu has been IR'd. Hawthorne gets to be the man for 10 games. At least the rest of our defense is healthy now.

Our OL for the Dallas game supposedly is McIntosh, Sims, Spencer, Unger, Willis.

Road game, against Dallas, after a BYE....I feel like a kid with two F's on my report card waiting for my father to get home from work.

I wonder if at this point would it be best to try to blow it all up and start over. I mean it's becoming clear that a lot of these guys are having trouble staying healthy for whatever reason. I don't know.

Well, not THIS season. lol We gotta rebuild from the inside out instead of the outside in. OL and DL. We need another stud in there next to Mebane on the DL and get another legit speed-rusher DE.

On OL, Unger will be fine, but I might prefer him as a center eventually because I'm not keen on Spencer's line calls. We need LT/RT addressed more than anything on the OL right now, then a guard.

Yesterday's game was about what I expected...but I was proud to see the fight in the team that was there, especially in the first half.

Hawthorne's great....he's playing himself right off our team so far this season, lol. He'll be a starter somewhere else in the next year or two, not sure what his contract situation is. He's too good to have on the bench as a backup...unless we switch to 3-4.

Housh and Hass need to do some extra work at practices together to get some ESP happenin'.

Trufant looked pretty rusty with those penalties, didn't he? I think he'll be fine next week.

                Trufant looked terrible.

I would say our D Line is ok. Jackson is improving, and Cole isn't too bad. I guess one speed rusher would be ncie for 3rd downs.

Our O line is where we're broken,. and running game. We need a legit rb who can get 4 yards a carry.

Agreed that O-line help is more pressing than the D-line...but I'd still like to see more consistent pass rush/pressure.

I agree. We need to be able to create at least a little bit of pressure with our front four.

I really wanted to see Housh do well in Seattle, and would've loved for him to come to the Ravens but I always saw him having an attitude problem that was going to come to light. In Cincy, all spot lights are on Chad so I think Housh flew under the radar, but he's said some questionable things every now and then. He seems to have a pretty bad temper and I've seen/heard it a bit this year with the number of balls going his way and yesterday when Matt didn't put enough air under a ball that would've been a TD. That guy's got a ton of talent. I hope he doesn't explode and become another one of "those" WRs.

Well, we tried. I missed the last few minutes (Hass's shuffle pick) but here is some of what I observed against Arizona.

-We played hard, but we weren't the better team. This is as healthy as we've been all season and we still didn't have enough in the tank.

-I'm excited about the Forsett/Rankin combo...if they can play at a similar level of success next week against the Vikes then we may have to adjust our draft strategy, which I LIKE.

-Pass rush???????????? No pressure on Warner = loss.

-Housh finally LOOKED like a number one today...great receiving day. Wish Nate coulda made a catch or two!

We're not out mathematically, but it's wishful to think we're still good for a Wildcard or the Division. So, I'll just have to enjoy the games for their sake the rest of the season and hope Mora plays some of the young guys to have a good look at 'em for the future.

Looks like the season is over for Seattle.

I actually thought they would contend for the NFC West, but their window has passed.

Agreed....I'm resigned to just watching the games now to evaluate our talent and coaching with an eye for the offseason. The buzz of Holmy possibly returning as GM is interesting, as well as the buzz about possibly going to a 3-4 next year because of Hawthorne's emergence, which would alter our draft and FA strategies.

At this point, I wouldn't mind a switch to a 3-4. Hawthorne is definitely playing solid, and it'd be nice to be able to get him on the field more.

What are everyone's thoughts about the Holmgren as GM and Ruskell not being retained situation?

Personally, I think Ruskell needs to go for sure. This team hasn't hit on many draft picks lately and the free agent signings haven't done much. We need someone different up top, I think. I'm not sure Holmgren is the answer, as his coaching/GM duties earlier didn't work out terribly well. But still, the core of the team that went to the Super Bowl was built by Holmgren.

I'm in the Ruskell-needs-to-go camp. Like you, I'm not 100% sure yet if Holmgren is the answer, but he did get us Alexander and Hutch on his watch as GM.

I will say that he was overburdened when he was both GM and HC...but I think he might do better as a full-time GM. He would also bring back some prestige and respectability to the Seahawks.
