    Re: Attribute Effects

Player invidual stats all almost same as previous years, couple minor fixes there. Big change is OVR numbers are very different and also stars ratings (puck skills, senses, shooting etc.) have changed. So if this AE slider has more effect than previous years, that means game uses star system and player ovr rating at calculationing to gameplay rather than player invidual stats. Thats interesting..

Thanks you guys for these tests and info, have to definately try myself AE at 10/10. It definately sounds very promising.

      Re: Attribute Effects

One thing I can say about the AE slider at 10, stay out of the penalty box. And while killing a penalty don’t get caught chasing the puck. Easier said than done at times but the CPU will make you pay if you can’t effectively kill penalties.

Started my Rangers franchise because the roster update came out today, lost 2-1. Anyway the game was fantastic. Honestly the game plays great on allstar with just the attribute slider maxed but I did adjust a few things out of personal preference. I lowered back skating from 50 to 45, feel it helps with the dump and chase and causes some more board play. I lowered pass assist to I think 25 and lowered the Ai's passing ability to 25. I also lowered one timer accuracy to 40 or 45. Also lower hit power to 25 and upped penalties. Again this is all personal preference. I have to say they did add little things to franchise that give it new life. Ea better not mess with this attribute slider in a patch or a tuner. I lost the game because Duschane pressured Brady Skjei when I was looking to dump in, Duschane poked it of skjei's stick went around him, gathered the puck and was off to the races and Brady couldn't recover and Duschane abused Hank for the game winner. Without this 10/10 maxed slider Skjei would have easily and unrealistically caught up to him.

              Re: Attribute Effects

Gotta admit, this slider works for once. I'm not sure what they tweaked, but having it maxed does seem to bring out the good players. I stomped Florida 7-2 with the Pens at home (tomorrow's game). It was on pro, so it's not the score, but who scored. Malkin 2G 2A, Guentzel 2G 2A, Hornquist 2G, Crosby 4A. Three of those were on the PP, one on a 5-on-3.

Oh and if you want better player movement in the offensive zone, try setting your individual line strategies on the low end of cycle/shoot. Your teammates will move and rotate, as opposed to standing still covered. I was really buzzing around their zone.

After playing with this at 10, I'm not quite sure what to think. I think I've hit the net once from the point in about 100 attempts which I think is a tad unrealistic. However I do like how it makes the AI Miss more keeping their scoring down. I think I'm going to try it at 7 today and try to find a compromise.

You have to aim lower, center. That far out you're going to have less accuracy just like real hockey.

I agree way more point shots are missing the net at 10, i might try 9 or maybe raise the accuracy to 50. I find most of my shots are going over the net by quite a bit.

I just played a game with attributes on 9 and had a great game, ARZ beat me 5-3 and had 2 point shots go in. Shot totals were still very realistic, i was outshot 30-25. Def going to do some more experimenting on 9, but so far i like what i see. I also found the point shots that did miss didn't miss by as wide a margin, which i think is better.

I would just bump the shot acc to 50 for wrist and slap shot if you seeing too many go wide.

That way you keep all the effects of having it at 10 with the players.

I played a few more games today, I'm almost out of my EA Access trial. Man, is this playing awesome! This is a great find. I decided to try something in my last game since the goalies are very good, which I like, but wanted to try something. I put goalie screen effect all the way up.

I scored on a wicked slapper from the point. Goalie never saw it, never moved from butterfly. The rebounds seemed very good too. Not saying it is a must, but it was definitely and interesting change of pace trying to clear a lane so my goalie could see. Made a whole new focus on defense and shot blocking.

Got about 2 games left on my trial. I have 22 games left in my NHL 17 season. I promised I wouldn't get this until I finished. So tomorrow is binge NHL 17 day to bang out a dozen or two games. (now patch me in an option to invite friends to play coop team play in franchise, please)

                          GOOD STUFF

I know this may sound weird... but to me, the game also plays different depending on the camera angle you choose.

If I play on ICE or CLASSIC camera, it seems to me the shot totals are higher, shots seem more erratic, there is more space on the ice, etc.. when I play on DYNAMIC MEDIUM it seems the player scale to the rink is much better, game seems tighter, less shot totals, etc..

Maybe I'm just thinking too much.. lol... could just be in this head of mine.

This actually makes sense. I watched a video clip of a game that was using broadcast camera and the game looked much better and definitely had a much more realistic flow to it.

Thing I fine with the medium camera though his you cannot see enough of the offensive zone. I guess it's a trade-off
