I guess I just take it for what it's worth, a video game. As far as my teammates being out of position most of that is on me, as I said I switch control to the closest all the time so I get running around to a certain degree.
Also there isn't one single sports game out there that plays like the real deal either, at least not that I'm aware of. Maybe it's just not as easy as you think it is to have a video sport be 100% accurate.Comment

The Show 15 on PS4 was a game that was so beautiful, that I actually became an MLB fan here in the UK

The Show is for sure the closest but in all fairness baseball is also the easiest.
I'm not saying its not hard though. 2K showed how hard it was to make baseball games lol.
But out of all the major sports games baseball is the easiest. Way less moving parts. You have a stationary pitcher and a stationary batter.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

That's why games like The Show, NBA 2K and even NHL 2K are so loved. Sure you can bring innovation, and you can have purtty graphics, but at the end of the day if all you're doing is going through the motions, very soon you're going to get tired of it.
Pacman is a very easy game to understand. At the time it had amazing graphics too. But the gameplay, basically, has you doing the same thing over and over again. The difficulty may ramp up, but eventually even that stops being a challenge when you figure out the pattern. And that's when you realize very quickly, that you want more.
The Show does that. NBA 2K does that (not the last 2 versions though). It felt like you're really there. Or that you're watching a game on TV, if you have the right camera angles and settings.
It's not enough to have great graphics and easy to understand controls. Am I doing the same thing ad nauseum? Then it's like playing Pacman all over again. Gimme something different. I wanna hear the announcers notice the play. I wanna hear some playful banter. I wanna see the opponent players adjust to my strategies. I wanna have to run different plays against certain teams. I wanna see my teammates adjust and help me. That's the immersion we're missing with EA's games. It's always, do you wanna score? Then do this or do that, and you'll score 95% of the time if done right. Deviate from it a little... Well you're not having any fun.
Give us all that, and let the players decide. I'd love to play more than one type of game. It doesn't have to be, one is better than the other, so I'll only play one. Give us variety. Give us choice.
Give us a good product that immerses us.Last edited by VeNOM3099; 11-18-2021, 02:24 PM.Comment

Re: NHL 22 Patch Available - Includes Player Likeness Updates, Gameplay Improvements
I mean you're asking basically... will someone who hasn't played NHL games since 2008 be annoyed by the state of the game without the trajectory behind them of having played other EA and 2K games since then and having that experience to compare them to?... I have absolutely no idea. One view could be: you have nothing to compare to so you wouldn't know what was wrong and you'd love it. But, there's no way to answer your question without knowing what you find "fun" and "non frustrating". It sounds to me like you just want someone to say buy it or don't even without knowing what you'd like. And I'm not coming after you or anything, sorry if it sounds like that, but this forum is full of people asking this question and it's sort of pointless. Thing is someone can say, "no don't buy it". Someone else can say "yes, totally, buy it". Ok, so where does that leave you?
Do what I tell everyone to do. Search "NHL 22 gameplay no commentary" and watch 5-10 minutes with a team you like if you can find it. If you feel like playing it, you should buy it.Comment
