Yes, I suppose you're right. I never thought about the AI managing their own rosters. I don't know, this game is just not very good when it comes right down to it. I suppose you can make it sort of good if you want to play 7 minute periods but that's just not for me, I prefer longer games.

Yep, it sucks that the game is built with such high overalls. But anyways, the way the sim engine is built, a player with a passing of 90 will get around 50-55 passes, 40 if around 85, etc. So that's good for me. (Assuming the player plays on the proper line). And as I said, there's no need to tweak all the ratings when just tweaking the sliders would work for those who play longer games like you.Comment

Also, if you have the slider the attribute effects slider maxed out, is pass reception more affected by the pass reception ease slider ? I know that the difference between a 80 shot accuracy and a 90 shot accuracy with the attribute effects slider maxed out is quite huge, but don't know about passes.Comment

Roster 0.7 Progress Update (Day 1):
- Roster transactions up to January 11, 2012
- Anaheim - Carolina done (salaries, lineups, poistion, jersey number, handedness, height and weight), also the jersey number menu where you pick the captains and alternate captains. (This includes their players in the AHL, like their NHL jersey numbers are set in player edit, so when they get called up in your Be A GMs, they should have their real NHL numbers by default)
- Created 4 Players for Legends team (Not married to this, but you guys can go over them if necassary, but they're there if you'll be interested... Rob Blake, Scott Neidermeyer, Mark Recchi, and Joe Sakic.
- Roster transactions up to January 12, 2012
- Chicago - Minnesota is completed (includes their players in the minors)(postion/jersey number (in player edit) / handedness / height / weight / salaries / lineups / jersey numbers (captains and alternates also)Comment

I see now. Are you sure it does the same thing with pass accuracy lowered at maximum ?

I'm just starting to experiment with the Attribute Effects slider at 0, but with my edited rosters. I've done lots of slider tweaking with this game, and the earlier ones, and I've yet to find a happy place. I'm still working on it though, in fact I'm going to play a game right now.
On another topic, would it be possible to get the rosters before Monday or Tuesday, Matt ? With all the players edited and the other stuff done. I'd like to start the CAPs ASAP since I start school in 1½ week.Last edited by AngelPingu; 01-14-2012, 02:46 AM.Comment

Have you tried tweaking the poise attribute ? I really don't know what it does in this game except of boosting a player's overall by 3 when it hits 75. I don't know if these are just intangible stuffs or really affect the play of a player in a game. I would think a player with the same attributes than another player but with a lower poise would make more mistakes, like missing a pass, missing the net, etc. than the one with the higher poise.

what i've figured doing is manually writing down the AHL lines from EA roster update(latest) and editing that way. alot more work, but like the last 4 years of this game the lineups get scrambled when you move players around. scratching the player before you move him seems to help, but its not guaranteed to workComment
