Fantastic update to the editor. And I'm really pleased about these scheduling possibilities! Personally I wouldn't care at all if the divisions couldnt be altered because I've already figured out how to replace teams at the start of a season so that teams are better distributed and that wouldnt really have anything to do with the schedule you play anyway, really.

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
I'm currently running a test.
So you all know how I've wanted an option to change the year in Franchise Mode right?
Right now I'm taking Snowdrift's rosters into a franchise and simulating until October 2017. I want to see if I can dump the players out of the rosters by then and re-import Snowdrift's roster via spreadsheet. that way the rosters would be current and the year would be as well.Fandom:
NHL - Vancouver Canucks (since 2011)
NFL - Green Bay Packers (since 1998)
NBA - Los Angeles Lakers (since 2004)
MLB - New York Yankees (since 2004)
NCAA - Michigan State Spartans (since 2004)
UFL - Michigan Panthers (since 2023)

It's pretty ironic to see you here. Whenever I need to work on rosters or on the editor, I put on old videos from your YouTube channel. That's been a habit since I started this work back around 2013. It usually gets me fired up. Definitely looking forward to 2KHS as well!Comment

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
EDITOR UPDATE TO VERSION 0.15 (May 15, 2018)
NEW FEATURES:
- Edit the year in Franchise Mode. This feature is located in the menu bar at the top of the main window, under the new Schedule menu. For now, the years 2007 to 2030 are valid. (A greater range may be possible, but I haven't tested beyond this range yet.)
- Filter any roster to view only forwards or only defensemen. Previously skaters were always grouped together.
- Option to manually set a player's status to "New".
TWEAKS:
- Removed the extra option to open a 360 save. It doesn't make sense since the editor can now open them directly.
- Changed the messages displayed when opening a 360 *.ROS file to more accurately explain what's happening.
NOTES:
I can confirm that I've once again figured out how to edit the Franchise-mode schedule. This feature may not be available for some time, though, because programming an interface for schedule editing might take a while.
Download the editor from the first post.Comment

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
I feel like I'm gonna get some kind of a notice from OS for all the likes I've given you on the editor.
Thank you, again. Excellent additions. Can't believe how lucky we are to have such great options for playing 2K8.
So, the displayed year can be modified, but is it crazy to hope one day for a calendar that is date-accurate and actually has a random schedule? (Obviously a current one isn't possible with 30 teams) If a random one could be generated you could at least keep it fresh every year. I wonder if there's any way to tap into what the franchise mode does to generate a schedule for following years? Or are they always the same ones?Comment

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
Yes, this is what I plan on doing: generate a random schedule based on the current (2018) divisions. The game will still calculate your playoff qualification based on the old divisions, but who cares... at least you will still have to beat divisional rivals to get those points.Comment

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
Honestly, as long as the schedule properly puts you against appropriate teams in a 30 team schedule such that whatever team you replace with another, takes on that schedule. So replacing Phoenix with Vegas, means Vegas gets Phoenix's schedule. Which I'm sure is what the game does if you ever replace a team anyway. What I'm not into which I've seen in other game mods is, for example, despite Columbus being in the West in the game, people still mod them an Eastern schedule so it matches 2018. I think that's nuts. If you're going to accept any team in a specific Conference then they've gotta play a schedule for that conference. Again, another reason to just swap teams directly so you know what schedule you're taking on.Comment

ESPN NHL 2K5 actually has a schedule editor that is a separate program in the FlyingFinn Editor's directory. I intend to use it to make a schedule that is close to next year's. replacing matches against Vegas with intra-conference games.Last edited by WWEDX2007; 06-15-2018, 03:55 PM.Fandom:

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
I've never had anything of the sort with this editor.
And even if so, he says in his post to use it at your own risk. and why not keep backups of your files? is it really that difficult?Fandom:

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
Without knowing what you did, there's no way I can help.
- What kinds of edits did you make?
- What exactly did you do to to get the file back to your 360? (This is usually the problem...)
- What happened when you loaded it? Black screen? Error message?
Ideally you should also post the corrupted file so it can be looked at.Comment

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
No, I'm sorry, you're just wrong. It's unfortunate that you had a problem and that it corrupted your file but you are simply wrong. If anyone corrupts a file using this tool, it's actually verifiable through the amount of testing the tool has gone through that it is user error.
Secondly, what do you gain by alerting the community that they shouldn't use it without trying it for themselves first? Have you seen the number of pages and replies the tool has gotten? Was that all made up by people because snowdrift has some secret agenda in life to corrupt people's NHL2K8 saves? That would be pretty pathetic.
Explain your problem, give a description of what you did, how you captured the save and opened it and then what you did with the editor. What you did is like walking by a restaurant in the morning when it's closed and saying, "this restaurant sucks, they never open".Comment

- I initially copied my file onto the disk, so the original is still on the 360.
- The file got corrupted, so the only option was was given was the "Delete" option.Comment
