Well, I finally had a game with Chicago playing against the Bruins. Fantastic. Really. A clear distinction between better and worse players, great hearing some of the names including ones I didn't think I'd hear. Two things I can't figure out are

1) can I put this game in Widescreen on original XBOX or not? Is it good to go as long as the system is chosen to output 16X9?

and

2) I have to get some good sliders or play with them more. Although a few quick tweaks and by the third period, I was playing some really great feeling hockey with this 13 year old game.

The game is automatically put into 16:9 when your Xbox dashboard is set as such.

Skaters are finished for Dallas and proper equipment has been set.....I wish that the editor automatically calculated overalls though, teams would be done a lot faster if I didn't have to rate them by hand in game and make sure they're the right overall.

I'll likely finish their stats sometime tonight or tomorrow, upload a screenshot of their lines and update the save in the initial post.

Got a ton of new games lately (Since it's sports related....among them are NBA 2K14 360 and NCAA Football 13 on PS3....both have really good roster updates available right here at OperationSports ) so my focus went away from 2K5 temporarily, got back on the ball today though and finished the Wings. A member of a Discord chat who is a hardcore Red Wings fan helped me refine these lines. First post updated.

Got a ton of new games lately

Always good to take a break. Thanks for your continued effort. I got to play NHL 18 yesterday. Wow, am I glad I don't play that series anymore. Going back to the 2K games for the last few months I think I'm spoiled for life from ever going to EA again.

A change has been made to the save which will be reflected in the main post when the Oilers are finished in the coming days.

Every team I've finished so far has had their fight settings modified (this was something I didn't touch before) per the spreadsheet certain skaters will fight and others won't. No players on my updated teams will argue with referees until I can determine which players do that.

Also, every skater has had their skating style set to 0 until I can understand what the differences between these are and what I can compare them to.

EDIT: Also, Jordin Tootoo will be added to the Blackhawks' roster, I knew about this error a month ago but forgot about it.

Congrats to the Capitals and their fans on the Cup win , I look forward to adding them to the save.

However, I'm not looking forward to the offseason transactions.....yeesh

2K8 may let you create players beyond the limit, but you'll soon realize that the new players are actually just replacing existing players, meaning you lose one when you create one. Not only that, but it will cause the dreaded Franchise mode freezes and stop Fantasy Draft from working.

I doubt you'll run into that with 2K5, and it's awesome it's letting you create new players. But I definitely suggest that you keep backups and run tests periodically!

Got pretty scared by what you said and decided to test.

Doing a fantasy draft, either in Exhibition (draft before play) or Franchise doesn't crash the game or cause any weirdness. it actually works well.

I then took the Fantasy Draft I made in Franchise and simulated 2 seasons, the results were that it works fine with no freezes.

No players appear to be overwritten over other likenesses either. Although I am having an issue where new created skaters cannot be given facial hair. Which really sucks.
