Please don't retire any time soon Sergei Gonchar.

    We still got a game!

    EDIT: Great tip by Guerin.

Trust me because I've been on the other end of this - it's very dangerous to toss up a stinker like this on your home ice and give a trailing team this much confidence and momentum. Who knows, maybe the series ends in six games, but the Bruins have given the Flyers a lot of life with the way they've played (and acted) tonight.

The funniest thing is that is what most teams do when they are getting beat bad. At least that is what I see. I saw the Sharks do that in game 4 and I watched the Flyers do it to in some games they played. I also so the Canucks do it to the Hawks and then the Hawks do it last night to the Canucks.

              Really, Sid? Really? *sigh*

Game 7 is going to be tough as hell with that monster the Habs have in net.

So, if the Canadiens win Game 7...winning back to back Game 7s on the road against the Presidents' Trophy winners and Stanley Cup champions...

I'll defer to Doc to discuss the historical significance.

I am pretty sure the Pens will win at home, but you never know. The Flyers one is the game I want to watch. I want to see how the Bruins responds to that butt whopping.

Considering Dan Carcillo got two games earlier this season for (accidentally) cross-checking someone in the face, I can't wait to see how many games Savard gets for cross checking Richards in the face tonight.

....just kidding. I know nothing will come of it, or Begin's ridiculously illegal boarding of Claude Giroux, which may have put him out for Wednesday's game. Only the awful Flyers do that stuff.

The Molson family owns the Habs, so I doubt there's a Labatt allowed within 10 blocks of Bell Centre.

Only comparable situation that comes to mind is the '91 North Stars. Snuck into the playoffs with *cough* 68 points, beat the Presidents' Trophy winning Blackhawks (106 pts) in the first round, the 2nd overall Blues (105 pts) in the second round, and the defending champion Oilers (80 pts) in the Conference Final, before losing to Mario & co. None of those series went to 7, though.

Minnesota had a freakish power play that playoffs -- 35 PP goals in 23 games! I also seem to recall North Stars' D-man Mark Tinordi was on the ice for 17 minutes (!!) of the 3rd period during the clincher vs St. Louis. Insane.

Yeah, wow, great effort by Philadelphia in Game 5 in Boston. The Bruins didn't seem interested... maybe I'm just thrilled with the victory, but I don't recall any sustained pressure from them. The defense was excellent and credit them for easing Leighton back into the net. Like someone else said, I'm surprised the Bruins weren't throwing everything at Leighton coming in cold off the bench. It seemed like it at first (they had a chance or two), but after that, nothing.

Jackson & Clement were discussing the disparity in penalties, but aside from the early (mid 2nd period I think) roughing call on Savard, every penalty seemed legit. Flyers may have gotten away with 1 or 2 shoves from behind into the boards but otherwise, another quality officiated game in this series.

Another game, another set of injuries. Boucher's one looked bad, but they're saying just a knee sprain right now. Boucher or Leighton, though, it doesn't matter to me. This team is playing just like that, everyone is picking up the slack now. Speaking of which, Leino and Gagne are heating up, and Hartnell got off the hook with a goal (maybe 2?).

Game 6 in Philly... man, it's going to be tough. Having lost the last two games and now just one game from the edge themselves, the Bruins are going to come out flying. I hope the Flyers don't get complacent having a bit of an edge now and being back at home. The crowd can only cheer, you still have to perform.

There was some talk during the game about Rask having let up 9 goals over the last two games, but he's not the problem at all. Plus, he's making some pretty ridiculous saves even if he's letting up 4+ goals. Which may just speak to how thin the line is between a scoring chance and scoring a goal and how the Flyers were walking on the former rather then the latter for the first few games of this series.

Still a ways to go. Keep pushin', Flyers!

I say the Flyers will get it done at home, but it will be very tough to beat the Bruins at their home. It should be a wild game 7 if that does happen.

Seemed pretty damn easy for the Flyers tonight.

Though, I hope I never have to see an "effort" like that from the Bruins again. Abysmal in all ways.
