I think San Jose reps the West and goes to the Cup. Can't say I trust Niemi to take the Hawks all the way.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
Hard to call the Hawks-Sharks series at this point...I don't know that the Sharks have played anyone as young, fast, talented, and hungry as they are yet in the playoffs. My sense is that Chicago may have played the better teams to this point, by a whisker, but who even knows if that matters? It should be entertaining at least, and I'd much rather have either of these teams win the Cup than any of the remaining teams in the East...I flat-out dislike the Pens (for obvious reasons), and I have nothing against the Bruins at all, except Boston has just had way too much sporting success in recent years for me to get behind them - it would mean that all 4 of their pro sports franchises will have won a title in the last decade...that's a Golden Age if I've ever seen one. The Habs are a plucky underdog who I could get behind, but I have no real feeling about them one way or the other, and the fact that they've won 24 Cups makes it hard to root for the rich to get richer...
But, it's gonna be what it's gonna be. Good luck to the remaining teams...let the best squad prove it on the ice.Comment

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
It wouldn't matter with the flow the series will have. I expect a lot of up and down hockey and it could get pretty high scoring. I can see this probably going 7 games. My heart is for the Blackhawks but realistically I dunno who'll win.
As for the Canucks....What a way to go out. Luongo will be stripped of the "C" for sure and I bet Henrik Sedin will be the new Captain.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Pretty much the entire Vancouver blueline is a problem. They were either ravaged with injuries, or just flat out terrible. Not enough actual "defense" from their defense corps, too many guys offense-oriented (ask Sharks fans about Ehrhoff).
In the end though, their #1 problem is behind their defense, between the pipes, about to make 10 million dollars next year.Last edited by Psyblast; 05-12-2010, 07:29 AM.Comment

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
Actually Psy, I believe Lu's cap hit is like 6 million next season then will be just over 5 million for the next 5 seasons.
But yeah their D is pathetic. Losing Mitchell really hurt.
It's going to be pretty much the same team with them being up near the cap. I'm wondering if we will finally see Cody Hodgson.Comment

Should be a good game- Actually happy Leighton is in goal although Boucher has been great and the reason they snuck in.
Just noticed the 5pm start on Center Ice. Hope it's not like game 6 at home last year- Flyers had a 3-0 lead in game 6 last year and then Carcillo decided to be Dan Carcillo.I Want My $2 Dollars
NFL- Eagles
NHL- Flyers
NCAA- Fresno StateComment

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if the Pens lost this game. They just don't seem to have it this year IMO and seem to be going through the motions (as mentioned before). Oddly enough, a good chunk of Pens fans I work with felt the same way. At least all the jealous Pens/Crosby haters will shut up if the Pens are out of the playoffs!

I agree. Especially when you consider the fact they've been to the Finals the last 2 years. They must be on dead legs after all these long playoff runs with not much time off. Also can't forget about the Olympics for some of the players as well which added tread to the tires.I wouldn't be surprised in the least if the Pens lost this game. Hopefully they can pull out the win though. At least give me 1 bright spot after a horrible day yesterday.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.
