Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
The problem is Montreal exposed Pittsburgh. They live and die by the Big 3 but after that they're a woefully average team. I mean if the other pieces were better don't you think they'd have more success? The Habs shut down the 3 centres and disrespected the wingers and D-Men. If a team can do that and have success then it shows there's something very wrong with the rest of the team.
That being said, you have to be a very disciplined defensive team to play the way the Habs are playing. I'm really liking their chances to go to the Finals what with how beat up both Boston and Philly are.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
Don't need to trade anybody. They are simply not the same team they have been the last 2 years. Losing Gill and Scuderi hurt. Ponikarovsky has been a huge dissapointment. Fedotenko hasn't stepped up like usual. Malkin has been a ghost. And Montreal pulled a page or two from Detroit's book as far as stopping Sid.
That's also the problem with having a bunch of UFA role players coming off a Cup Finals appearance (guys like Malone, Gill, and Scuderi).....it drives up their market value to unreasonable levels and makes it impossible to re-sign them when you've got so much committed to the core. They've done pretty well at getting good rent-a-wingers to fill out the the top 2 lines but it didn't work so well this year.Comment

The thing that sucks about Montreal probably winning this series, aside from the fact it's Montreal, is that I can just see this miracle run encouraging a whole bunch of teams to start trapping and going back to the pre-lockout style of play.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. You're setting me up for disappointment Penguins, your setting me up. But I have to say I love it. Nice to see a team with heart after the Cavs game yesterday.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Honestly, I didn't see AO get crucified for losing to the Habs. IMO, neither Crosby or AO should be crucified for losing to the Habs. They're a VERY good team - one that's impressed me greatly this series....not to mention that not one player wins a series so blaming AO or Crosby is incredibly short sighted by those doing so.Comment
