So by your reasoning if a proven superstar doesn't perform up to par because the other team contains him it's OK and the superstar should be free from criticism. I respectfully disagree.

Not free of criticism but not made out to be the sole reason for the team's defeat. The hate on Crosby is a little much IMO.

Ok, I see what you're saying. I guess I haven't noticed any Crosby hate. In terms of taking criticism I did mention that I wondered how the media would react given how Ovechkin took a lot of the blame for the Caps' opening round defeat. I really thought the Pens would come out and take this game given their recent track record. And honestly, if Crosby was scoring at his normal pace the series might already be over which is in contrast to Ovechkin's supporting cast not giving him much help in round one.

It is what it is. If the pens win it will be because of Sid. If they lose it will be because of Sid. That is sports with a super star.

Well it was a good effort, just would've been better if this was the way they played from the first drop of the puck.

The team gets a pass from me this year though after coming off a championship. That was an amazing experience (my first team I got to see win a title) and sure it would've been nice to get another this year, but like I said, I'll give them a pass this year.

It does suck that this loss has to be to Montreal of all teams.

LOL at the Pens' fans bringing up Crosby hating before the "Crosby haters." And Ovie did get nailed in the local media for the loss to Montreal.

Of course we'd bring it up (or should I say "I")...the haters are as transparent as glass and it was bound to be brought up. The hate is strong for Crosby on this forum (as SPTO duly noted) and other forums. My main point for bringing it up is to mock those simply blaming Crosby for the loss - and there are those that will do that in the upcoming days. Instead of blaming Crosby, I think many need to start complimenting the Habs. Excellent back to back performances against the Caps and Pens IMO.

Never said AO didn't get nailed by the local media for the loss to Montreal. Not really sure where that's coming from.

Again, congrats to the Habs on a great series. No excuses. No pussified whining about refs. They simply were the better team. I hope they win it all this year. And if they do......no question Halak is your Conn Smyth winner.

Montreal has beaten the #1 offense in the NHL and Malkin and Crosby in consecutive series.

Now, they'll face a Boston offense that isn't that lethal and a Philly offense that could be real good but has worse goaltending (esp. with Boucher out).

Crazy.
