Ah, I love this time of the hockey season. There are three injuries. Head, upper-body, and lower-body. All day-to-day.

Hockey coaches around now make Belichick look forthcoming.

I'm sure Miller's fine. Enroth is doing well in his place so far.

Thankfully the 3rd period lasts 20 minutes instead of 21 minutes. We were getting dominated there at the end.

Y'know I have to hand it to the Leafs. They've played some great hockey down the stretch and while it's virtually impossible for them to make the playoffs this stretch run has been more impressive than their customary "we have nothing to lose" runs over the last few years.

I'm going to make a bold prediction right now but I think the Leafs could be a 6th to 8th seed in the playoffs next year.

They're just trying to give a big FU to the Bruins since the Bruins have their 1st round pick. If they had their own pick there is no way they'd be playing this hard.

Honestly, I just don't think they would be in the same position they're in. I think they would have mailed it in. For a long time they were around the 4th-5th overall pick in the draft, if they actually had the pick I think management would have been fine letting the players cruise the rest of the year. That way they could have ended up with Adam Larsson or RNH in the draft.

Obviously things played out differently, they were putting effort in to make sure the Bruins didn't end up with a top pick again. They just kept creeping up in the standings and pretty soon they were close enough to actually compete for that last spot.

You'd think so, but the evidence doesn't support this. Since the lockout, the Leafs have consistently played better once they've been virtually eliminated from the playoffs. They're too dumb to tank.
