I think Parise is better than Burns. I'm not sure if there are hard feelings with the fans over him going to North Dakota to play his college hockey over Minnesota or not. Sure I'd like to see a Parise type of player on the Wild, but I'm not sure giving up our big players is such a good idea right now.

I want Parise and Burns both, dammit.

I don't understand why the Wings game on Versus isn't available in my area. I just watched Wings/Pens (most of it, ugh) on Versus so why was that available and today it's not?

I set my DVR to record it, and noticed it wasn't recording, so I had to scramble and find an alternate broadcast, and all I can get is an SD feed I hate SD

Nice to see the Canucks get a win in their annual game on American TV.

          Ewwwww, SD!!!

I refuse to watch any sports in SD anymore. Once I went to HD, I can't go back.

            HD snobs!

I can watch in either. Obviously, I prefer HD but if it's SD, whatever. I just want to watch the game.

TG there's no shootouts in the playoffs. But the best news I heard coming out of the Flyers/Pens games is that The Walrus is retiring and retiring NHL refs can't work the playoffs.

We lose, but the last minute is always fun with pulled goalie. O'Reilly had the chances in the end but couldn't come through.

Well it's pretty much down to this for the playoff races:

                      East:
                      7 - NY Rangers 85, 7 games remaining
                      8 - Buffalo 81, 9 games remaining
                      9 - Carolina 78, 9 games remaining
                      10 - Toronto 78, 7 games remaining

                      West:
                      5 - LA Kings 90, 8 games remaining
                      6 - Nashville 90, 7 games remaining
                      7 - Chicago 88, 9 games remaining
                      8 - Anaheim 87, 8 games remaining
                      9 - Dallas 86, 8 games remaining
                      10 - Calgary 85, 6 games remaining

Thoughts? I think Kings and Nashville are pretty safe, but you never know so I included them. Montreal has a large enough lead on 9th to not worry.

For obvious reasons, I'd like to see Dallas grab the 8th seed.

There are essentially no good matchups for Detroit in the first round. Not sold on this team's prospects for a postseason run at all this year.

Yeah I agree, hopefully the experience of last season will help Howard this year.

I hope so too, but frankly he has been mediocre and it's been hard to even watch the Wings this year. They just look old. I think they could probably take Anaheim, but Chicago could beat them and Nashville is scary with that beast Pekka Rinne in net.
