Crazy Wings game last night, all the goals seemed to be scored in quick bunches. Hell at one point in the 1st the score was 1-1, I ran up to fix a drink and when I came back 5 minutes later the score was 3-2!. Franzen scored 5 goals and the Wings won 7-5.

Hey, hey, hey. I'm about as fair a Flyers fan as there is. I think Fiddy can attest to that. I always try to put my personal feelings aside.
I don't think the goalie fight was as big a deal as everyone has made it out to be. "One hitter quitter!" Hardly. And I have nothing against Johnson. In fact, I like when he appears... it means the Fleury has been lit up!
Flyers have certainly had their share of a-holes. Boulerice's cheap shot and Downie's head hunt come to mind immediately. Even Richards, who I believe is an excellent captain and one of the best centers toes the line and crosses it, at times. And of course the Bullies always pulled a bunch of BS, but that was a completely different era.
But I always try to be fair in my opinions. I don't want someone to see the Flyers logo and dismiss what I have to say, no matter how clearheaded it is. That's just as bad as what they would be accusing me of (homerism). Not saying you did, but just wanted to let you know, I'm not just another blind Flyers fan.
haha im just messing around. i agree. it is a bit overrated. it's just the fact that there hasn't been a goalie fight since like 2007 i believe so that's why it's getting so much attention, and i've personally met Fleury, and i'll tell u this... he probably won't be fighting anytime soon. lolComment

Gotta love it.
I also like how the Wild score 1 goal total in 3 periods, OT, and a shootout the other night and then have 2 in the first 1:01 tonight.
This has been an entertaining game so far.Comment

Can you, or anyone explain the ruling that just happened on the Avs PP? I don't think I've ever seen it.
Minnesota was on the PK and cleared it from inside their defensive zone, it went untouched until Anderson stopped it from inside his crease. They awarded the Avs with a faceoff in the Wild defensive zone.
The announcers said something about it crossed too many lines?Comment

I must have missed that because I was watching at a bar and just got home.
But it is stumping me right now the way you describe it.Comment

And damnit, I was counting on either you or Kobalt to be able to correct me if I misheard it, I am down to him now!
I know there was an icing attempt and play was stopped and the face off was taken back to the Wild defensive zone.Comment

I'm hoping I missed something because I'm completely lost.

Anyways after 1.5 years, I'm off Craig Anderson bandwagon now, hoping Panthers give us Vokuhn and McCabe.Comment

Re: The Official 2010-11 Regular Season Talk Thread
It was offsides, but there was still a strange ruling that caused the puck to be taken back to the defensive zone that I don't understand instead of just outside of the blue line.
They made it seem like if the pass comes from the defensive zone and the play is offsides then the faceoff goes back to the defensive zone.Comment

I just rewound the DVR to watch it again.

They won that game last night in the first period. Rask made some great timely saves all night as well, they got away from the game plan a bit late in the 2nd and early 3rd, but finished strong. For two teams that see each other once a year, there sure is a rivalry vibe and some bad blood between Dallas and the Bruins. Gotta love it, great game.Comment
