At 2 in the afternoon even!

I'm slightly concerned for the Canucks. I know I had a sweep and it's going that way so far but Luongo isn't playing as well as I thought he would. Maybe that just means he's due for a great performance.

I want to know what happened to the tight butterfly style he used to employ. Luongo's current style could best be described as "caterpillar".

Also, I was wondering if this was making the rounds outside BC. One of my EA friends that I used to work with on MVP whipped this up at the start of the series:

That is cool I saw that before. MVP you say? The Show is better!
I think Sharks will turn this around at home. If they don't then Vancouver is just better, just like the Hawks were better last year. I will say one thing we know the Sharks are better than Redwings.

All of which, while good, have been taken down by the team. Reports out there from the B's PR guy that they received threats against Bruins' employees from people, but no word on whether or not that's true.

I'm sure the Sharks do right at home, but it sure seems like the 'Nucks are flying right now. Again, going 7 with the Wings may be fatal to San Jose's cause in short order...

I still think Tampa is better, and I'm not backing off my double-down on them (having already lost my drunken "Tampa will sweep Boston" bet early in Game 2....). Stevie Y in a suit is about all I have left as far as vested interest in these playoffs...

I was at last night's Lightning game. VERY disappointed in Tampa's lack of energy. Before some of you crush me on this (I'm a fan who lives in the Tampa area) I've been to nearly 20 games this year, including games in every playoff series. My eyes didn't lie. They were lacking in the zeal department last night.

The opening goal took the starch out of the crowd... The B's were doing something different last night in that they were dumping the puck into the corner with a LOT of arc on it. It would die there in the corner. The Lightning seemed unprepared for that, and I could see a lot of chatter out there (I'm in section 129, 14 rows from the ice near the half-boards).

Regarding those signs on the previous page... Bruins fans can make fun all they want. The Lightning crowds have been great. Remember, a LOT of people move down here from elsewhere. It's hard to establish loyalty...it takes time.

I am a NE Ohio transplant who grew up a Penguins fan. Mario was my guy. But I've lived down here for almost 8 years now, and I'm truly a Lightning fan. This area has been VERY hit by the economy...Tampa housing market is one of the worst in the entire nation. People can make fun of this, but it's tough down here. Construction jobs are gone...property taxes are down...foreclosures are up. It's tough. But the fans are solid, and I'm proud to be one.

mkharsh33, I don't think anyone - at least not here at OS - will question your fan cred. If such a thing even exists. You have no need to defend yourself here, as far as I'm concerned (not that I speak for all of OS or anything, but just knowing the classy posters in this forum I imagine that would be the case).

Honestly, even if you just started watching in the 2nd round (which I know you didn't), I don't see why that even matters. At some point, everyone was new to the game....maybe except for our friends to the North, who are born with one skate on. From my perspective, anyone that watches and enjoys the game is a fan, no better or worse than any other. As far as I remember, there wasn't a hazing ritual or mutiple choice test required to get your hockey fan card. If there was, I certainly don't remember taking it...

The insulting of the Tampa fan base is just good clean fun, city-to-city rivalry. Trust me, when I was living in New England, I went to a handful of B's games (this was many years back) and it wasn't exactly hard to get a ticket. Not ragging on B's fans, just sayin' every town, O-6 or not, has bandwagon fans. Hell, I've been to Wings games during the tail-end of the "Dead Wings" era where you could've literally walked right up to the glass at the Joe from the upper bowl without running into so much as a line at the bathroom.

Plus, Stevie Wonder is Tampa's GM - for me, that's all the hockey cred the city needs...

If the Sharks show up and win these two games at home then we got a series again! The thing is Vancouver is a better team and they are truly rolling, but I still have faith in the Sharks. Still looking forward to the game tonight.

It was disappointing to see how the Sharks gave up after the Marleau fight. The Sharks are a good team but they're not exactly the toughest bunch of guys around.
