Yeah I turned away and volume was down so I missed it but saw it post game. Scary stuff, hope he doesn't have a serious injury.

I was reading about it on a game thread on another site, apparently blood was flowing from his ear.

It looks like Matrix got a good game to watch. I'm not sure how the Kings missed the open net in the closing minute of the game. I thought it was going to be tied for sure. But that's what happens sometimes in hockey.

The Hawks beat the Kings 2-1 and win the last 2 games on the west coast trip to even out their record at 3-3 in what could've been a less than desirable trip. After watching the Flames and Oilers games 3-3 is fine by me.

Now they get to go back home Tuesday against Phoenix.

Got to go to my first Sabres game of the year last night (got a really big discount on tickets that I couldn't pass up) and boy did I pick a good first game.

The rookies and call ups really stepped up.

That must've been extremely painful. Slo-mo starts at the :40 mark

I felt bad for the player that shot it. He looked so shaken. We couldn't hear the commentary, so I didn't realize it was his first career game. Lucky we didn't see a death on the ice. If his helmet raises a little and that catches him square in the temple, it's lights out forever. Scary, scary stuff and good to hear that it's "only" a broken jaw that will sideline him for 6-8 weeks.

The last few minutes of Saturday's Pens/Habs game featured the most lunkheaded reffing I've seen in awhile. Total failure.

                  1. Why wasn't Pacioretty kicked out of the game (or at least given 2 minutes)? His hit on Letang was a textbook Rule 48.

                  2. Why was Letang allowed on the ice in OT? What happened to the "quiet room" rule?

                  3. How could neither of the refs have seen Price cover the puck shortly before Letang's winner?

Anyone seen David Jones lately? Downside of having Duchene on W, Jones playing with McClement and Kobasew. Who gets shut down by Andrew Raycroft? Hejda is so bad, -16 on the year.

Edit: We get a goal after I post this.

Amazing stat, 74 games since Avs have had back to back wins in regulation.

Sacco blamed Galiardi today? Just go away Sacco.

Also, Anaheim has put Bobby Ryan on the block.

Is this the new "thing" in the NHL to not whistle plays dead after the puck has been covered for a good 5+ seconds?

                          Evander Kane is the ****.

                          This needs to be known.

If it was like this all the time, I wouldn't have a problem. But you have a quick whistle one play and then an eternity before a stoppage the next rush down the ice....

Anybody want Luongo for a bag of pucks?

I think Schneider is the better goaltender but you cant let Luongo be the backup because he's under contract until 2021-2022. I think Gillis is a good GM but it's extremely stupid to give any goalie a 12 year contract and it's even worse when you give it out when the goalie is already 30 years old.

I hope there's something in the new CBA that gives the Canucks an escape route from this contract.
